Arizona Head-Fi Meet Summer 2015
I've never been to one of these but would definitely go if it's on a free day for me! Listening to amps and higher end headphones for the first time would be awesome, in Chandler btw.- Warhawk

Trying amps before buying?
Hey all, been a while since I've been here but I just got the dt 990 pro 250 ohm. Right now I'm just listening to them through my MacBook Pro and my iPhone 6 plus which already sounds amazing. I've been looking at amps and have been considering the fiio e17 and maybe even the schiit vali...- Warhawk

Cowon S9 now has gapless!!!
At least for certain codecs, mainly the lossless ones and ogg. The only one I have tried was flac and it works flawless. This is a beta firmware though(1.31b). Hopefully with the full release mp3 will be supported as well, even though people have reported that the gap is shorter than...- Warhawk

Newb wants to jump into good SQ player market (and many assorted questions)
If your not gonna use video, I would rule out the s9, d2+. For strictly music, I'd say any sony except the new x1000 since the price is way too high, unless if that's no problem for you. Also, the i7 is good from what I've heard, and of course the clip and fuze like you mentioned. Also...- Warhawk

sony nwz-639 or iaudio i7+ADDIEM
From what I've heard, I'm pretty sure the sony is warm and the cowon is colder. So the i7(imo) would be your best bet.- Warhawk

Pictures of Your Portable Rig [Part XIII]
Unfortunately I was unable to make Dream Theater a flac, as audacity wouldn't go past 2gb... But its 1.5gb at 320kbs mp3, which is still good. All studio cds except for When Dream and Day Unite and Black Clouds and Silver Linings. I also added A Change of Seasons EP(just the main song) after...- Warhawk

Bye Bye lossy!
I kind of did the same thing a while ago, but with only around 80 cds. All ripped to flac on my 1tb external hard drive, then converted to mp3 v0 onto my s9 since I don't have the space for flac. -
Dream Theater-Why have I discovered them just now?
I've been listening to them for about 10 years now, and they are definitely my favorite band. I'm glad you got awake and images and words. As those are my two favorite albums also. Following those would be six degrees of inner turbulence and scenes from a memory. They also have a new... -
Pictures of Your Portable Rig [Part XIII]
Hmm I decided to take a listen from my etys, after them being in their grave for a while. And I must admit, I like the alessandros way better! I can't even listen to them with the fiio, too much hiss, and theres still some small hiss without it. The only way I can get good sound from it is...- Warhawk

So you did exactly as I did, just copy and paste it from imageshack, and it works for you??? Because when I post it using the img tags, they are there in the editing mode, but they don't appear when I post... EDIT: Hey, that's my mom! She's a quilt freak, and that's the cover for my bed...- Warhawk

<img src="http://img5.imageshack.us/my.php?image=img0165l.jpg" /> Meh, best I can do so far. Ahh how do i get pictures to show. Normally on these types of forums its But that shows up empty, so I tried the img src and that didn't work either... I just tried the 'insert a picture'...- Warhawk

Can anyone show me some pointers on shooting with a camera? I have a canon sd890, and can't seem to take good pics of my s9. Especially with the screen on. Don't want to start a discussion, so you can pm if you'd like. Still messing around with it though, got it today.- Warhawk

What Are You Listening To Right Now?
Dream Theater - A Nightmare to Remember -
Rockbox doesn't like Tool :(
Whats the frequency rate for them? I noticed that it was just a high pitched noise like you said for 96khz(stupid me for thinking that would work lol). I can't remember if I changed it to 96khz or if it was default on the converter I used, but I switched to 48 or 44khz and it worked fine...- Warhawk

Best sounding (non-EQued/non-modded) player you've heard in your puny little life.
iRiver H10 Creative Zen Samsung P2 Cowon S9 These are ones I currently have or used to have, and the S9 sounds better, with just the rock preset, I still have to mess with the detailed eq settings, if I ever feel like it.- Warhawk

so how do u convince your loved ones?
I'm 19, single living with parents and work 50-60 hours a week. Of course, it's my first job so I'm not making awesome $, but it's still better than minimal wage. This Christmas I asked for $100 MS-1's and my mom said that was fine, as long as they sounded dang good. Some of my friends...- Warhawk
