CDP to buy blind for Graham Slee Solo MC + HD600s
A few years ago, I carried my Slee and Senns to a hi-fi shop to audition the Arcam FMJ 33 and Meridian G07 and G08. I ended up getting the G08 second-hand from Audiogon. Still very happy with this set-up.- Bosch

Meridian 808.2 - Finally Received and Installed with B-52 into Home Rig - With Pictures
Yeah, seconded. Jesus wept. One B-52 for each ear? I'm particularly curious to know how the Meridian scores in terms of PRAT compared to the Esoteric...when using the same amp, headphones, and music.- Bosch

Great Electronica (give me suggestions!)
What is the new Pnau like, splaz? I revisited the first album a few weeks ago and quite enjoyed the drone-like tracks. -

Loving NIN Ghosts - more like this for me?
I saw this album in the shop and was curious. I've grown tired of Trent's inner turmoil lyrics and nihilistic angst. Yawn. They always seemed to intrude into some interesting sounds and beats. Hopefully Ghosts is what The Fragile should have been but wasn't. Thanks for the tip!! -
Megadeth - Countdown to Extinction MFSL
I have the remixed and remastered release. For all of the reduxes, it seems that the vocals have been given more prominence, which is distracting at first if you're used to the original mixes. However with added clarity for the instrumentation, I kind of accepted that and now enjoy them for... -
Great Electronica (give me suggestions!)
I second the trance recommendation. The progressive trance I've been collecting lately is mind-blowing on headphones. One resource... Psyshop Retailers locally have been dumping import dance stock for sale cheap, e.g. $34 AUD down to $16 and $9.95. I go for the progressive trance stuff... -
I must fix Californication.
Aussie release also sounds awful. Identical master obviously. Groan. -
GRAHAM SLEE SOLO

good system for hd650 break in?
My AV pre-amp has a headphone socket, so if I want to burn a pair of cans in, I just play the radio into it while I'm at work. In other words it don't matter what you play. Another suggestion is to just use them from day one. No anxious waiting required!- Bosch

GRAHAM SLEE SOLO
I really like mine. I don't have the K701, but I believe that the Solo 2004 was made with the Senn HD600 and HD650 in mind. It also drives K501 fairly well, based on a post from a ways back. Search on "501" and "solo". The K701 may also shine? I have an okay source, so I'm not sure what...- Bosch

ALO Sennheiser Headphone Cable
I've been using my ALO Senn replacement cable for a few days now (thanks Ken). The sound is very lush. There's a lot of detail and separation, i.e. slightly more 'airyness' in familiar recordings than I remember from the Zu. I probably need to switch between them to confirm this, if I can...- Bosch

Where to buy / import Zu Mobius? (UK)
I'm in Australia and back when I wanted a HD-650, I could not buy Zu products new. I eventually got my Zu second-hand with a pair of used HD-650s, i.e. the same seller. -
Melbourne Meet Impressions - Sunday 7 October 2007
Hey, well done with the meet. It is a rewarding day, but also exhausting too. Funny that few (none?) of those who went to the inaugrual meet turned up this time, me included. With my flatmates gone, I've been listening to music on speakers almost exclusively in the last two years. However...- Bosch

Black Cube Linear VS Graham Slee Solo
I considered the BCL back in the day, but went for the Slee Solo based on reviews and ease of purchase locally. (The BCL is now available from Headphonic in Perth, but the retailer's comments about it are a tad luke-warm.) With my set-up, I characterise the Slee Solo as 'muscular' and dynamic...- Bosch

ALO Sennheiser Headphone Cable
Good timing! My Zu Mobius SE has developed a right channel problem at the plug, probably due to a blanket/cable tangle malfunction in my bed (err, sorry, padded listening platform). Will bounce over to the website to have a closer look...- Bosch

do you think trance sounds better..
Since trance and techno music sounds pretty blah without subwoofer assistance in a speaker setup, ditto for headphones. If you don't get a strong bass punch (minus bloat) then to me it just sounds flinty and weak, like cheap PC speakers. I think trance is no different to most music...get good...- Bosch

I'm loving life with the 650s
I've found that as I upgraded my amps and source, the HD650s kept delivering more and more sonic goodness. And I prefer the speaker-like presentation of the HD650s compared to flatter (and more boring, less 3D and dynamic) soundstages from other headphones.- Bosch
