There's Something About Ultrasone…
I've had these phones for 1 1/2 years. They easily have over 2000 hours on them. Something about the synergy of the Duet with the 750s brought out a harsh treble. A bit 'o felt evened things out.- flitflint

There's Something About Ultrasone…
Hi Ultrasonistas I have been using the Proline 750s for 1 1/2 years now, and I like them a lot. I recently tried them with an Apogee Duet. Does anyone here use this combination? I found the 750s through the Duet to be unusually harsh in the treble... in a fatiguing way. (by the way, my...- flitflint

Cable tuning @ ultrasone pro750
Is there an American store equivalent? I'd like to investigate a replacement cable for my proline 750s, without spending $150 from Ultrasone USA. Anything around, bang-for-buck? -
Apogee Duet DAC ROCKS!
Wow, OK. I've been reading newer reviews by HeadFiers of the 750s and it seems they are indeed power hungry, and also harsh in the highs. perhaps I was just experiencing the signature of the 750s through the Duet. I wonder... should I get a headphone amp, a different set of closed...- flitflint

Apogee Duet DAC ROCKS!
Hi Grawk proline 750s. totally burned-in. maybe I was just not used to what it "should" sound like after coming from a much lower quality device(?) I do remember reading another person in this thread found ringing in the 7k-8k range... I experienced it as being higher. The 7-8k range...- flitflint

Apogee Duet DAC ROCKS!
Hey All I gave the Duet a shot a week ago, and listening to the stock headphone amp (at least) I have to say I found it to be quite bright, and in a grating, fatiguing way. Which is such a bummer! I really wanted the Duet to be the solution for me. I'm a recordist on a budget. Anyone...- flitflint
