[FiiO FD7/FDX] 12mm dynamic driver with its diaphragm using pure beryllium, with an outer-magnet field, up to 1.5 Tesla magnetic flux.
Lol, sad but true 😁 ignorance remains the most profitable industry. Curious if anyone has comparisons of FD7 vs. any of the Thieaudio IEMs btw. Both are excellent brands- FlowLikeWater

FiiO Hybrid IEMs Discussion & Impressions Thread
I found the FH9 bass better for classical/pop, far too slow for metal. I'd recommend FD7 for metal instead- FlowLikeWater

IEM for sound engineer/musician sensitive to harsh hi-mids, 30-100€ ?
I'd recommend the Etymotic ER2XRs, great bass control for price, and made (I believe) to address the bass-light concerns of their SR models Difficult to find a flat-response IEM under $100- FlowLikeWater

Indeed - This problem is easily solved with patience/self-control. Helps to wait and see what rises to the top in each price category instead of buying immediately upon release.- FlowLikeWater

Epic! Keep an eye on them in the coming weeks, water damaged electronics usually work fine for few days after contact, before corrosion starts to set in.- FlowLikeWater

ThieAudio Monarch MKII Owners - Do You Hear This?
Just tested this, no tight membrane sounds on mine on either side - definitely sounds like a QC return Interestingly, I had the Clairvoyances, and they made a thwacking sound if I shook the IEMs, as if the dynamic driver wasn’t secured inside the body (which turned out to be the case, got a...- FlowLikeWater

[FiiO x JadeAudio JD3] Dual-cavity dynamic driver+Microphone and line controls
And people pretending they found their endgame once and for all, and are definitely done spending...definitely. for sure this time.... At least they have each other :) Huge fan of FiiO single DDs, this one is probably quite good- FlowLikeWater

ThieAudio Monarch.... OR is it
My Clairvoyance has some very strange stuff going on too - sometimes the bass completely disappears, and the sound becomes very hollow. It happens on both earpieces at the same time. I tried different sources, eartips, same effect (made sure I had a seal too). It's almost as if certain audio...- FlowLikeWater

ThieAudio Signature Series Tribrid IEMs
I have both the Clairvoyance and Mk IIs, and I second these thoughts. The Clairvoyances (similar to Oracles I believe) have a way of injecting energy and life into the music, better than MK IIs for pure enjoyment. The MK IIs didn't wow me from a musical/emotional standpoint, but from a...- FlowLikeWater

FiiO Hybrid IEMs Discussion & Impressions Thread
Thanks for sharing (no need to be afraid of stating your opinion btw, its just headphones...lol) For me, FH9 technicalities are good, but tonality is definitely not to my tastes. Decided to disassemble the earpieces, gonna mess with the crossover tuning to see if I can salvage it. High quality...- FlowLikeWater

Fair point haha...yeah the double Ds and the Estats is a combo I've been interested in as well, but $3k price is heart attack level Good luck on your search man, here's hoping the tech comes down in price over the years- FlowLikeWater

Yeah that sheer bass power combined with the retention of midrange and treble clarity is very unique, it's got that club thump whilst remaining wholly clean. Another cool observation is that the sound production remains completely distortion-free, even at tinnitus-inflicting volume levels. A...- FlowLikeWater

FiiO Hybrid IEMs Discussion & Impressions Thread
Something seemed a tad bit off for the FH9 sound for me as well. Technically speaking, the FH9 is high quality, well extended with no harshness or roll-off on either end, from bass to treble. The bass though....its clean, but too powerful. The bass makes itself overly present in every song...- FlowLikeWater

FiiO Hybrid IEMs Discussion & Impressions Thread
I did say “large”, not “largest” ;) I think Sony is the IEM DD size king, 16mm in their EX1000s too Relative to the vast majority of DDs tho (which around 10mm), 13.6 is massive, almost double the surface area….again, not like it matters :)- FlowLikeWater
