Looks like a pricing mistake. They raised the price to $959.99.

I wouldn't buy those se215s. They are way too cheap to be legit, and the blue (special edition) is the same as the black ones.

I think it's only for the A10/A12 kickstarter backers. Others will be able to buy it later. https://imgur.com/gallery/Js50z (not my pictures) https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1043330169/realloud-technology-that-saves-your-hearing-and-yo/comments

Make sure your audio files aren't compressed. Also, the HD558s are low-mid end headphones. You'll have to spend more if you want the best SQ.

Are these the best ~$500 closed headphones for movies and gaming?

I have the PM-3 and they don't clamp my head. My ears do get very close to the drivers though. They're comfortable enough for me to wear them a few hours a day. It's summer right now so open back headphones work a lot better when it comes to comfort since they don't heat up.

http://www.inearz.com/ To have an audiologist make an ear impression for you it will cost around $20-$100 depending on where you live. Most places in my area don't charge more than $50 for both ears. Edit: just realized this thread is over a month old. geoffsdad, stop bumping old threads.

    How important are aesthetics?

Headphones stay in my house so I don't care how they look. You can get CIEMs if you wanna design your them, but they can get expensive :p

"We're working with a Chinese audiophile company to make this O2 as affordable as possible to get more people into Audiophile gear and grow the community." You probably won't get much support if something goes wrong with the product since it's from an unnamed Chinese company. Last time...

    1964 Ears

I think it will be available in September. It's $1800/$2000, but they will most likely have an introductory sale. Kickstarter backers already received them, and I heard some people had luck emailing them to buy it before the release date.
