The impedance of the headphones with the iPod shouldnt be a problem at all honestly. For home use an amp setup might be nice to have but you wouldnt want to carry it all around with you.

So you do or do not like the impedance increaser? Do you think it needs even more impedance added for some reason? Years ago I added some impedance to a set of headphones by soldering some resistors into the wires and it was honestly more trouble than it was worth. I later just made a plug in...

Agreed. We can all agree the PX100 is no match for actually sounding as good as the Grados.

And at least try them with an amp to see if you can live without one.

I've had several iHome models and cant say many bad things about them. Sound quality is okay for listening to as you lie in bed.

At $50 the Studio 3's are a great entry into the great quality IEMs.

I have yet to hear a decent open phone that can handle gaming.

I honestly didnt notice a difference with a friends pair of recabled 75s. Plus they didnt feel sturdy at all anymore.

If it plugs in the bottom it will be a line out signal. If its the type that plugs into the headphone and control port it will be a headphone out.

You mean the docking station that has an fm transmitter built in? It will give a line out signal.

The 5.5 iPod is the easiest to do video out since it can use the headphone jack without an expensive docking station.

Right now you can still find the Super Fi Studio 3 for $50 and thats a steal at that price. Also the Altec IM716s are still cheap some places if you like that ER style instead.
