Hi house of Woo goers.

Pretty excited to try this rectifier.

Will be a small upgrade I’m predicting from my currently used 5AR4 Sovtec New production tube.

I just wanted to go with the gold lion series because of the stringent quality standards cause I went through a bad experience on E-Bay with a bum, leaky ass tube. People who know tubes know that purple lighting isn’t good. Lol.

Anyway. crap happens, but by the middle of this week I should report back with some good news with the Genelex Gold Lion GZ34. 🎵🕺🏻

I would too, preferably with a pair of ZMFs

Which of the cheaper Woo amps play awesome with Diana TC.

Looking at amps under $2,000. I’
I’m think about the WA7.

I love IDH recs and I’m using Philips GZ34 in my two channel 300b amp. It’s not a Woo but a cheap one out of China and I modded the amp after finding Skunkie Designs.

Hey Bill,
I thought I saw where someone on US Audio Mart had a Woo WA-22 Gen1 for sale for under $1000. May not be the final word in performance, but certainly cheap enough to try and sell without losing much, if anything, should you not like it. Tubes for it aren't terribly expensive

I use to own WA234 WA5 LE and WA33. I had purchased a few old units and one WA 5 LE 1st gen. The 1st gen stuff I found too rolled off the top end. I'll take a look see what I think.

Since Schiit is direct sales, and TSAV doesn't carry their products, and this amp will be going back to Woo sooner than later, I won't likely have a chance to do that comparison. But hopefully, I will be getting several more amps from Woo in for review soon.

The Diana is not very efficient and not very high impedance, so ability to deliver current at decent, but not super high voltage means a hybrid amp (which the WA7 is), could work pretty well. That said, the WA7 is the wrong hybrid amp. It’s 1 W max output is not going to get the best out of the Diana (IMHO).

At under $2000 I think the Woo WA6SE might work well, but I’ve never heard the combo and can’t say for sure.

That’s the problem I’ve found with low efficiency headphones- they tend to be picky about amps.

I have a WA6-SE Gen 2 for sale if you're interested...

folks, have any of you had any experience connecting your Woo Audio amp's pre-outs to a SS amp such as Holo Audio Bliss? I was recently advised by Woo Audio that my 3ES pre-amp outputs are meant for speaker amps only and not for headphone amps. I am trying to understand why this is so. any advice/ experience that you can share with me would be appreciated.
