I am looking to upgrade from my Logitech UE 6000 over ear headphones and am looking at the M50x and Takstar Pro 80. Can anyone compare the two and which one sounds better?

I will be using it mainly to watch movies and listen to music. I listen to top 40, edm and vocal trance and instrumentals. Thanks in advance :) Looking to really take a step up from my logitech ue 6000's.

UE 6000 is the best headset out of the ones you listed.. if you want a UE6000 upgrade expect to pay upwards of $225

what genres do you listen to? and what you powering it with? i got those 2 and the hifi 2050s love all 3..

I listen a wide variety but lately a lot of ambient, dubstep, vocal trance, acoustic, rock metal pop etc.

Powering them macbook pro 13 retina -> SMSL M2.

Don't get me wrong, the UE6000 is better at comfort but it is way too mid bass heavy and honestly sounds like mud sometimes, in comparison. How do you find the Hi2050s?

I use the hifis for gaming and movies.. but lately I have been loving it with music.. did a pad switch and EQ a few things around I like them more then the pro 80s. I consider the UE6000 in the same league just different signature.. thats why i said a real upgrade is north of $225, but honestly these ones at this price are pretty damn good and most wouldnt need an upgrade further

The sq from my VSD3 and Havi B3 Pro 1 compelled me to get over ear upgrades. They honestly sound leagues better than the UE6000 imo. Different strokes and all that

To put this into perspective, people have commented that their hi2050 purchase has caused them to sell their much similarly designed and higher priced name brand headphones because they couldn't justify having that much money tied up into stuff when their 30 dollar hi2050 cans are on par or even better in some instances.

Reporting in that significant portion of sibilance on my Takstar HI2050 is gone after few days of use.

Listening to New Order - True Faith (0m 35s mark) : There is no
I feel sssso exsssstraordinary
 any more.
Also the beginning
of The Hobbit:The Desolation of Smaug - the rain lost the
excess of
high frequency and sounds more natural.

I think I'm going to lose EQ settings and keep them at factory settings.

Thanks for the reply. I ended up getting the takstar pro 80. Pro 80>>>>>>>>>> UE 6000 no contest. Ue 6000 is not in the same league as the takstar pro 80 imo. Anyway, am happy with my purchase.

Told you =)

Hello all, new to headfi!

I've been looking for my first pair of headphones and from what I have gathered, I'm looking for something with good soundstage as I will only be doing gaming and occasionally movies, but mostly gaming. I mostly play shooters so soundstage is fairly important. I have looked at the 681 EVO(~50), HI2050(~40), and the Pro 80(~50). I'm thinking 681 EVO or the HI2050.

Also have a look into the Goldring DR150. You can get them for $50 on Jaben. Not sure about the price at other places. The cans have great soundstage, better than the Takstars but theyre hard to find.

   HI2050

Just curious, have you tried any of the Superlux's?

Look up the Superlux HD668B, multiple posts around saying that they are great for gaming.

Seen those before but the headband doesn't seem as comfortable. Again these are my first pair of headphones and I'm looking for comfort above everything, then comes sound.

They look like great headphones but can't find in Canada.

@abcabcabc
Comfort is also #1 for me.
I recommend you look at the Brainwavz memory foam replacement pads. They fit on a many headphones, and come in velour/pleather with color options.
The 2050's stock pads were painful in less than 30 minutes.
