Hah, I remember seeing that or a similar auction on rinkya and thinking it was BS.
Radio_head has a very good point in that larger stands such as the Sieveking Sound Omega may stretch out the SR-009 band over time. OTOH, the Room's FS would be almost perfect, except that its design won't accommodate a cover such as the CPC-1, as per the images below. Ether way, I found them for sale at two German online retailers, Thomman and Madooma, but not in the US. In the end, it looks like the Stax HPS-2 is the best compromise for now.
I just ordered this in mahogany for my 009s and this looks much easier to take on/off the stand compared to the omega shaped stand i have now.
plus, no compression on earpads or band stretching.
i assume it will take a week or two to get here.

Will the Stax cover be able to fit?
???
I've always been partial to kitties and ponies.
I have a My Little Pony shopping bag around my Stax when I'm not using them. I cosplay Hello Kitty religiously when I'm listening to them.
I second the idea of Kitty-cover.
Downright untouchable.
apparently not, according to previous posts.
i'm brainstorming ways to create a custom cover that would be attractive in my living room.
anyone have an idea on something cool looking?
x2. Pics or it didn't happen.
The original Stax SR-Lambda is amazing if you can find one being sold for a decent price by someone who isn't a flipper.
