Fiio, i have Denon ahd-600 headphones am i going to have the noise floor problems that bigerbenfan99 has or is that just with iems like those?

leo5111, generally the background noise is less clear on over-ear headphones than on IEMs.

Have there ever been any fake x5 gen 1?  I just got one and it seems to be completely functional and it sounds good but on the bottom right of the back of the DAP it says x5s and there is an s in an oval in the very bottom center, the rest of the back looks like pictures I've seen online. Like I said it seems to work, but the back has me a little concerned.

The Fiio X5s is legit. Take a look at this post by Fiio, announcing the model http://bit.ly/2aPT1mY

is there any sound problems at all? because apparently stands for refurb if you read their post

It does sound fine and I've verified all the outputs work properly along with DAC mode.  Considering the price I got it for I don't mind to much if it's a refurb.

So far it's a pretty good improvement over my old X1.  I just didn't want to spend $299 for the gen 2 and really wanted 2 sd card slots.

One more question for all of you, I'm assuming if I were to run this through an E12 I would want to use the line out and not the headphone out correct?

I have both the X1 and the X5 and the later sounds a lot better. More details, bigger sound stage more refined and accurate sound. Overall - Much better.

Are you asking about the orginal X5? Or the 2nd Gen? Because the X5 Classic is a warmer DAP. Quite lovely, really.

ORIGINAL this is the x5 version 1 thread right? :beerchug:

You'd be devastated to learn how often folk misunderstand that. Best to clarify the matter regular-like. :D
