I generally don't like the driver number game of the new chifi brand offerings and in my opinion the ck2v's treble is artificially tuned. They entered the chi-fi field with Zero sense but I don't know why people appreciated them
Everyone's ears are unique, and again it is not about the driver count (my all BA L8S is still my king IEM), but to me the CK2V does not sound artificial at all...all kinds of music sound perfect to me, from rock to jazz, going through some pop, reggae, metal, and some local Portuguese music, incl. some fado and cante alentejano (enough to say that vocals sound spot on, not to mention the huge soundstage)

Dinivus Wide Bores
Whizzer SS20 tips... the Fan 3 barely fit me right because of the wide nozzle, but strangely, those donut-tips worked well!

Listening again to the addictive "Smash" album by Patricia Barber...
on the Tangzu Ze Tian Wu... I'm reminded again of how GOOD that planar set is... so incredibly transparent and detailed. Now, it might be a bit "thin" for lovers of a more lush or musical sound, but the SOUNDSTAGE is one for the books, and that helps me overlook the sometimes slightly clinical treble presentation.

Comparing it to the new Wan'er 2, the Wan'er 2 is definitely more musical, but still quite detailed. Impressively so for a budget single DD... I think this one might end up even beating out the ZVX Pro for me, simply because it's detailed AND musical. Such an incredible balance here. The treble detail and stage isn't quite up to the ZTW standards, but I feel like it's a more crowd-pleasing tuning in that regard. While I STILL haven't done an A-B of the Wan'er 1 vs 2 yet really, I can safely say the Wan'er 2 obliterates its ancestor easily.

The Wan'er SE isn't bad for some genres, ... [A-B-ing it right now lol] dang... the SE actually is still pretty good with stage and detail. Piano sounds remarkably natural. The 2 is a bit more lush and balanced though. But I think for this soft jazz, I like the Wan'er SE better. Wow that was a surprise. The treble just sounds a bit more... forward, which sounds good on this album.
Now the ZeTianWu is CLEARLY a far superior driver, and is incredibly detailed and has a fantastic soundstage. But the female vocals can be a BIT bitey... And it just doesn't have the musicality for this album that the Wan'er 2 and SE have.

One last test again on the last song on the album "Missing" with the KZ PR3 on the Ruyi rod cable [4.4 with the impedance adaptor built-in] ... eh... not as good as any of the above IEMs. The vocals sound a bit lifeless. I am using that cable because it dampens the treble a tad on the PR3 and boosts the bass/warmth. [More notes on that coming later.] I mean, the PR3 has fantastic stage, but the ZTW has even bigger stage. That being said, the PR3 is slightly more musical than the ZTW, [mainly with that cable] but not in the natural way the Wan'er sets are.

One of these days, I'm going to have a planar showdown, mainly between the PR3, Aether, ZeTianWu, and maybe the TD20, even though that one has a very different sound than the others.

Absolutely agree — everyone's ears and preferences are so different, and that's what makes this hobby so fun. 🎶 The CK2V really nails that natural, musical sound for a lot of people, and it’s awesome to hear how well it handles such a wide range of genres for you (fado and cante alentejano must sound incredible with that tuning!). It's not always about driver count; it's about how everything comes together.

These tips whizzer SS20 seem to work well with bone conduction.
On the kbear kb02 it was with them that I had the best results

Went back on Amazon Music to Patricia Barber's oldest album, "A Distortion of Love," and for some reason switched to the TRN Jaws, which I've not used a whole lot yet... WOW... compared to the PR3, the Jaws is a treble-head STAGE NIRVANA. Similar to the ZeTianWu in how it elevates and clarifies the upper frequencies, the Jaws just seems so... clear, in a GOOD way. If you want clear, detailed jazz heaven, the Jaws is your ticket! The stage on these is something else. I still marvel at how small the shell is compared to how many drivers it has. ridiculous! it's smaller than the ST7, and yes, even way smaller than the Shell, which has less drivers! Super comfy too.

Despite how treble-focused it is, the Jaws doesn't place the vocals right in your face... at least on this album, the vocals are a comfortable distance from the listener, and really staged well. [grain of salt, this is my first time listening to these songs so...] Bass is so well done... never intrusive, but never feeling like it's lacking [kinda like the Aether... but with maybe a slight bit more punch to the midbass.]

I think Jaws is working their way up in my favorite IEM mental ranking... Still haven't tested them "officially," but I want to soon. Glad I didn't shy away from them due to 1-2 concerned reviews [about the treble haha].

These tips whizzer SS20 seem to work well with bone conduction.

I should try that on the KB02... although I have Spinfit Omni on them and they work well!

Great deal!!! I can't wait to NOT order them at the moment!!

USA USA USA USA USA USA!! No...**** Trump!!

All that dip means is that these are tuned just like the Zenith, Decet, PRX, EDC Pro etc etc, aka the treble is not prominent or very airy, just like the sets mentioned, which is the nu-KZ aka nu-meta, which all got good responses from the masses, so KZ will continue to tune their IEMs with polite treble until folks stop paying attention, and they go back to their old tuning style, which is letting the treble fly free.

He can't run again. He's a blow hard, and any dream of another run is a pipe dream and a comment purely made out of hubris. It would take an act of congress that simply doesn't exist (like getting rid of the DoEd), and no supreme court decree could validate. Who knows if he survives this go around? I'm just worried today, and my inability to use Alix for cable purchases. I need to nurse my cables, and keep my cats away from them.

This is the amazing GY-341 cable. It's a perfect synergy cable with the EBC80, and one of the most aesthetically beautiful cables I own, but it comes off by this afternoon, as the XINHS HA015 I re-ordered will go back on it (my cat gnawed on the OG). I have to post this way, because the link isn't available to US customers anymore.

GY.png

One of the ones that got away, even with a VIP with a deep deep discount, because this came out at the very same time as the ISN H60 and the Penon Fan 3, and I bought them both, so it was just a matter of $$$$, bad timing, and I wasn't buying earbuds at the time, but now, I wish I'd have been all-in.

No. The EBC80 is NOT an upgrade to the H60. The Archangel is, but not the EBC80. The 80 lacks the balance in the sub bass thru mid bass, lacks the crispness and note resolution in the treble, and there's too much warmth distributed from the lower mids to the mid bass, so though it does have increased technicalities and stage due to the BCD, so yes, it's a technical upgrade to the H60, but not a spiritual upgrade. It's just a different flavor. The Archangel on the other hand...

Probably a review sample, because any direct link for purchase is hard to come by, and mostly it's just Facebook contact. No wonder it's an overlooked gem. You can't easily buy it. Not only that, but unless you want to pay double and triple for something, now is not the time to be trying to add to your Chi-fi collection, Lee.

@GorGhast - Good luck with that "studio sound". Maybe Kurt Cobain on smack in the studio sound?
thats your take buddy and i respect it, havent heard Archangel, seem nice....yet EBC80 use same dualDD than H60 etc...and i prefer it over H60 big time...yet find bass similar. not the mids....not at all.....BC oblige. nor treble, EST oblige. anyway...man Archangel, again, seem nice!

I unironically want that IEM just to test their BAs. So weird how none of them has the sprout.
The sprout is designed for dampers and is important for dedicated wave guides. It seems that AM16 have a simple design of BA firing into the shell cavity. Hence the price. I think it is a good idea for KZ to introduce a seemingly new bass BA in a simplest design with the lowest price.

I wish I could get AM16.to some extent, since I still have them all all-BA KZ pokemons, yet since I do not use AE anymore, I may wait for AS24/Sonata implementation levels.

On another note, I got KBear KB16 as a replacement for KZ ZA12 (KeepHifi's kind preference, I would be fine with ZA12 replacement or could settle on "bad luck").

KB16 (Cepheus) on the first glance is a really nice IEM, kind of Meta tuning to my limited experience. Yet, it's nominal price is a bit shocking to me. It was clearly agreed that it was NOT any review samples without any obligations, yet I will try my best to put together my limited opinion/comparison of KB16. Sadly, KeepHiFi did not send the cable that I purchased for KB16 with the same order...

I did take a short break last week to enjoy the nature.
Northern Ontario is magnificent, as well as the Georgian Bay on the Bruce trail.
18.5 km with 350 m elevation was close to break my untrained self to barely survive today :)

I love it when I'm thrown for a loop. Taken by surprise by a combo I wasn't expecting to sound as good as it does? In this case, I'm wrapping up my review of the Elysian Apostle, and on a whim, while waiting for another DAP to charge, I decided to listen to it in 4.4mm thru the Hiby R3 II, which might be my least expensive DAP? The sonics are anything but blunted or or headroom handicapped. Nope. This is TOTL sound. Simply stellar presentation.

Tangzu is making their own Coreir eartips?

And these tips will be just as useless as the regular San Cai. I've had several sets in my possession, and even the largest size provides zero seal, so a harder core? Yeah No.

Fengru cancelled my order, and also cancelled sending me my replacement Fengru BP. They just refunded me the cost of three IEMs. They would have rather swallowed that cost, than pay any tariffs and fees. I understand it, but it pisses me off. They should have just told me earlier that they wouldn't ship it out. So I got this Fengru BP with channel imbalance, and it's my favorite of their line. Oh well, I got three cables incoming, and then that's it for Alix for however long? Very disappointed.
