Ypu know what really pisses me off?

After watching the "Star Trek- The search for Spock" and they are making fun of the antiquated computers... well my auto correct is still sitting in 1985 as well.

Either that or it's super intelligent and does it's own thing just to piss me off!

This is probably the most tastefully artistic faceplate I've had the joy of laying my eyes on. Turn these by a degree and colours will be totally different hue. The faceplate also has this different way of fitting where it's like a jewel inside its nest with an actual edge surrounding it. Marvelous. Little bro's first reaction was "Wooaaah".

Sound? Let me first get through the obvious new shiny excitement, but - trying to stay objective - these have some serious potential.

Have you guys seen this , it was shared to be from a Facebook post.

Wow BASN should be boycotted simply looking for paid shills.

I wouldn't trust a single review about thier products- kinda reminds of another one P.
You even have to put a deposit down to get it, and rely on them for coming through on a refund 😭 what the fresh hell

It's like a decease, the number of accounts that have been correlated with shilling.
And the last ones I saw were not small reviewers or dealing with small brands.

HeadFi too is filled with fake account that will drown any comments that put lights on any critics specially youtubers and established brands.
You're one of the few I follow and thrust.

It cost nothing ro them to produce and the margins are so high when you hit the hype train...

Going on with more tips, I'd like to try Divinus Velvet.
Anyone found them convincing enough to use it as daily driver?
Any suggestion? I love tactile tips, get, large clip and even foam are good choices for my tastes.

I see one of the very early reports is parroting the one negative that has plagued this line since the NX7 Pro, a less than wide soundstage. Out of curiosity, I dusted off my Pro, slapped on a newer cable and connected to my Hiby R4. Just to see if newer peripherals would make a difference. There is some overall improvement to the width of the soundstage, but I'll have to do some further tinkering with the Hiby M.S.E.B., to add some note weight, to the male vocals.

Pricing:
Looks like we'll know in a few days, but the pricing looks to be somewhere around $190 - $199 USD
Based on $199, there's a
store coupon for $20 off of purchases > than $190, "NX8NX8". I think it's for the NX8
Black Friday AliExpress coupon for $20 off of purchases > than $139, "USBF20"

Plus there's mention of a bonus 4.4mm cable being included

The crazy part is we don't even know what it looks like, it probably looks like this though?

I like these Aesthetics but I hate the fit of that shell. One of the things I wish they had changed with the 2nd version is definitely the shell shape, for my ears at least. I sold my OG pair a while back, maybe 6 months by now so I honestly don't remember how they sound. But for a long long time, the Timeless was my favorite set. It really got me back in the hobby 3 years ago.

I only have 2 pairs of Planars at this point so it'd be nice to add a set to the stable!

I think the Velvets are fine tips, nothing incredible imo but definitely a solid choice. I personally feel like the wide bore version is a KILLER tip. I just got them in recently and I've been putting them on every set I own.

To my ears they tighten mid-bass impact and reduce any sort of sibilance or harshness in the upper-mids and treble. The sound can just breath better across the spectrum. I quite like them and I plan on getting even more of them.

It's so funny how BCD adds yet another anatomical variable to this hobby. We all know that ear shape can affect the way our IEMs fit and sound, and that's clearly the case with BCD.

My example is the bass of the Fan 3. I've read numerous reviews praising the bass of the Fan 3 as fantastic, amazing, groundbreaking. I think it's OK. Just fine. Nothing more.

Perhaps that's because I'm much more of a mid-bass devotee than sub-bass fan. Maybe that's because the BCD isn't sitting completely flush in my ear? Maybe I need to tip roll -- using the stock now.

Or maybe it's just because the Explorer's sub-bass and mid-bass are just flat out better in definition and texture than the Fan 3. Yeah, that might be it. :)

Just shows how subjective visual taste is. That thing looks ugly AF to me! Looks like yet another kindergarten-glitter-art-project like so many other chi-fi IEMs. Having two young preschoolers, I see way too many art projects come home that look exactly like that.

The packaging, on the other hand, looks fab. That soft blue is perfect against the yellow-orange. I wish the faceplate looked more like the box. I'm going to have to start a new category: brands with gorgeous boxes and gaudy faceplates. Penon and Xenns/Mangird go at the top of that list.

For BCD proper fit is a must. Also, you need to see what configuration BCD is tuned in the Fan3. Like is it really for bass or is it just for the other frequencies.

Besides, Winters are finally here in Delhi(although we are facing a lot of pollution as well). So I am on my night walk with the AFUL Cantor and HiBy R8ii. I am configuring the R8II to get a better pairing with the Cantor.

Tube-y goodness in a small package! 😍 This thing looks really nice too. Definitely worthy of the white glove treatment. Looking forward to your future reviews utilizing the M5 Ultra 🫡

Yes paying for reviews is absolutely terrible, but I think the real tragedy here is that keyboard 😵

Dude, you need it in your collection. It's going right in my source section, forever. Got me eyeing things.

I mean, my ultimate review will still be dedicated on my Element 3 for the full clean sound. Just like when I tried @EnigmaFotos 's Cayin N3Ultra, the extra flavor/color helps me take off the review goggles and just enjoy the music.

Day 3 with the Dunu Braindance. It's official. I'm in love.

I'm coming to realize that a set like this runs up against my lack of experience with more expensive IEMs. It easily outclasses everything I've heard and owned at $500 and below. My only comparable experience is with pricier full-size headphones, and it holds its own against them (Focal Clear? HEKse? HE6?). I recognize those are apples-to-oranges comparisons. Nevertheless, this is the first set of IEMs I've heard that play in the same sandbox as those top-notch full-size headphones. It's not that the Braindance sounds anything like those headphones, but it's that the overall experience I get is at that level. I'm stunned.

The comparison I'd most like to hear is matching the Braindance against the Mega5EST. Both are tuned close to the JM-1 target, but every criticism I've heard about the Mega5EST (intimate, non-technical, unexciting) is definitively not true of the Braindance. It is dynamic, spatious, and impressively detailed. Comparing FR graphs, it's easy to see that the Braindance is something like a u-shaped JM-1. The Braindance also takes a very different direction from the Bass Edition of the Mega5EST (which adds a wide bass shelf from the low mids down through the sub-bass).

My the best flathead pair (event better than RW3000 for me).
Yeah RW2000 rules! I have no idea why I used them without the foams for a while, though, that was barely listenable.

Mail call.

Alright, I gotta confess something. Penon Impact has been in my ear for a lot of today while I'm writing and working on other things. Before the M5 Ultra came in that is. I like it but I'm also not likely going to go full bore on bass marks, etc.

But the M5 Ultra solved my biggest issue with them with way more note weight. This is the good stuff.
What a good-looking thing! If you say it sounds half as good as it looks I'm buying it.

Their latest IG post shows the whole lineup so I have a feeling they won't stray too far off in pricing.

Tangzu know a thing or two about design. Those Wu Zetian always looked class as well.

Received mine today and can only say your description is spot on!
All in all a better Porta Pro in my book. Except for the comfort, there the Koss wins. Got some midrange honkiness going on, but apart from that pretty smooth and nice treble! Bass is also not too shabby considering they are open on ears.
And don’t underestimate all the hard work that went into removing ANC and passive noise isolation. Finally you can wear headphones and talk to people at the same time! The future is now, indeed! (Sorry for the irony, but the product description kinda prompted me to have some fun 😜)
Looks are stunning, obviously. I chose the same color scheme as yours, so I will honor your beautiful pictures by not taking some myself that may remind people of the color of earwax again 😉
I want these. If nothing else just to display them. A cool room ornament for sure.

Just shows how subjective visual taste is. That thing looks ugly AF to me! Looks like yet another kindergarten-glitter-art-project like so many other chi-fi IEMs.
Ah see, you need a different angle.

I absolutely agree but I also think the new Dunu is awful looking just in a different way. I was surprised to find it wasn’t a $79 IEM !
