KiwiEars Singolo on “burn-in” rack (an excuse for me to procrastinate on this IEM, tbh).

@DynamicEars you can see the exposed LCP driver and the bass tube.

This IEM is a nightmare to fit. I’m not sure I have the confidence to review, since I’m fairly certain that whatever I hear, few readers would hear the same. Something like Magic One is very simple: you fit it deep to lock against the concha, you get the manufacturer’s intended sound. This Singolo IEM refuses to seal with deeper fit, and has piercing sibilant ( I suspect 5kHz) if it does not fit deeply. Certainly not a beginner IEM.

On the positive side, I find the bass to be interesting. It’s detached from the mid, but it sounds fun. Toe tapping fun. Might be because it is not bloated so every bass attack is clean.

So, I picked up a set of Singolo and beyond the left IEM having a stiffer 2 pin section, they've been fine for me with the Dunu S&S tips. I had a feeling they would work well together.

Talking about releases, I am a big HIBY fanboy. I admit that 😅
The R4 DAP gets more and more info, now English tweets are up. I was ready to buy the M300 as my everyday work and travel DAP, but this is much more tempting with 4.4mm and better DAC and Amp section.
2xx is probably 299, if so the pice for a Android DAP is excellent.

I’m shocked that they release one DAP with class A amp at this price. I don’t have the exact number but was told that the price slots right between R3 and the current R5.

It seems to be designed to go with the new FAudio collab, Project Ace.

It’s raining DAPs this year 😂

I will probably pick up the new IEM also when I order 😁

Not everyone will love the design of the R4, can always get black that don't scream Mecha as much.

I like the design, reminds me of both of Neon Genesis Evangelion and Gundam. Need a limited edition purple and green 🤣

Himalaya is excessively warm IMO, bass bleeds all over the spectrum.

It was a little warmer than I had expected, based on early impressions from Japanese buyers, many of who described it as “cool”/“cold” and “hard”. But excessively warm and bass bleedy, no, not to my ears. It has a healthy amount of warmth, weight and decay backed by solid technicalities, all of which contributes to its largely natural timbre.

In addition to playing with the vents, try it with a graphene cable if you have one. It tightened up the bass and cleaned up too much decay and resonance for my tastes, but may do the trick for you.

Are they supposed to be clear transparent shell or hazy translucent? Didn't looked as transparent as MagicOne from your picture.

Yeah bass is expected as on 100-200hz is no more than +5db, supposed to be clean bass with big attack on 50-60hz punch with great subbass too. I can say the bass tuning is great here as opposed to the MagicOne. But half up, the MagicOne seems better.

I haven't try the Eletech Baroque. How is it compared to spiral dot and divinus velvet since they are closest shape to Baroque
I like the divinus Velvets, and Spiral dots more. The Eletech don’t fit great.

Oh yes . If this is 299, then great ... As a m300 user, am also tempted! (But will resist!)

Edit: But if it has a fat volume knob I might crumble :) will await your review to see how it sounds etc and then decide.

The Baroque is even softer than these two. Well worth having for different IEM’s regarding fit. FX9 Spiral Dots, Velvets and Baroque are my favorite tips. Not much one or more of the 3 works with😄
