It's a trip right? Everything is warm, and then a few tracks it goes nuts. I like it a lot, but it's not for everyone and feels more of a specialist tune or Basshead set not an actual main tuned set.FatFreq Scarlet Mini has just landed. Driving just fine with the R3ii, which is the only DAP with me at the moment.
Everything was fine, midrange was good, treble was crystal clear, stage has a decent 3D feeling.
And then the BASS comes. Holy moly the bass. Not the bass, THE BASS. Constantly thump thump rumble, covering everything whenever there is a bassline.
Not sure if I like this. But if you are bass head, this it it. I have never heard my bassy music this ballsy before.
I need my U12t to cleanse my palette. Holy moly the bass.

Listening to the Maestro Mini now. Both this one and the Scarlet Mini sound just right, even rather nice with my orchestral library. Timbre does mot raise any alert, and the rumble enhances the sense of depth and power of the orchestra. It's a trip right? Everything is warm, and then a few tracks it goes nuts. But they go nut when I listen to bassy music, like EDM. Too much, IMHO.
I also have driver flex with both sets.
Ironically, I prefer these ultra bassy IEM for non-bassy music.
Edit: Cellos sound quite nice

I was hunting for secondary monitor for my laptop use, i ended getting a second hand giant curved monitor from a family member.
something that altered my desk setup and now i need keyboard and as i google keyboard, oh wow...
these people might as obsessed or might be more obsessed with things sound compared to audiophile.
No wonder Crin, Moondrop, and Fiio have keyboard side business. its right on their alley
the amount of modding to get that "Thock" reminds me on how headphone people are obsessed by dampening materials from using packing foam, shelf lining, and such.

I remember setting alarm to wake up early to order a KBDlite and then lube individual switch, tear my hair out with the stabs in the spacebar, and tuning the sound so that it thocks just right. (The secret is a layer of thin foam just underneath the switches)I was hunting for secondary monitor for my laptop use, i ended getting a second hand giant curved monitor from a family member.

Now you can order a prebuilt with all the bells and whistles without waiting.
Edit: don’t trust those sound tests on YouTube. It’s all in the mic placement and desk mat.

That's quite a good set then for bass-centric instruments as I also trusted your ears. Cello should sound like cello in live performance. How would we feel the soulful, solemn and mournful sound on Yo-Yo Ma's virtuoso performance. I remember that @Leonarfd also enjoy cellos.

I can totally recommend the FatFreq Maestro Mini. Very enjoyable across my library. The bass texture is *chef kiss. Ed Sheeran sounds right. Game scores sound right. Orchestra music sounds right. There is a slight metallic timbre in the upper frequencies, but brain burn in gets rid of it quickly. That's quite a good set then bass-centric instruments as I trust your ears. The Scarlet Mini is just too much to my ears. It does not sound as tight and textured as the Maestro Mini as a result, though the upper frequencies might be a bit better.
Need to stop listening. The rumble of these sets make me a bit dizzy.
and I'm still using an old Logitech Dinovo Edge that i bought in 2007I remember setting alarm to wake up early to order a KBDlite and then lube individual switch, tear my hair out with the stabs in the spacebar, and tuning the sound so that it thocks just right. my son did follow the mechanical keyboard craze a while ago, and i gotta admit i was also really interested watching the reviews with him, so much so that he gave me one of his that he doesn't use anymore..but for me to buy and customise myself, i don't think i have the skill and patience for it

Howdy folks,
My review of HiBy Yvain is online on YouTube here:
Big thank you to @Joe Bloggs and @Damz87 for arranging the Australian review tour that made this review possible.
I'll write a shorten review article on Head-Fi "soon."

My face was like “its tuning is so not my style. How come I can’t stop listening”The thinker
The rating was done live without editing or reshooting. You might be able to see how much I hesitated. It’s a great IEM, but not an easy recommendation. I hope that I can add it to my collection one day for a niche mid-focus IEM.

You make me sound as a KZ hater and that's not the case at all. I just appreciate good tunings and value and the Symphony is neither of those.

Not to worry bro.
Beta testers have tested the first iteration and a KZ Symphony Pro will come out in the next few weeks.
