Speaking of playback any recommendations for a solid music app for Android. Streaming isn't a priority for me but USBplayer pro has been crashing very often on my device and I wanna try something more stable
I use FiiO app on all of my devices, even on my Shanling in the past. HiBy app is fine too, if you are into DSP.

Took one for the team and got a Sineaptic SE-1. Man this is a wild Bluetooth/wired set dual array ribbon drivers for $200 was to crazy for me to pass up 😋
Just looked this up and it's kind of baffling. Partly because it's a Bluetooth set that's open-back, but also their choice of tuning.

They compare their FR with a $1,500 'Audiophile Favourite' and a $50,000 model (HE-1?):

I'm not as familiar with what headphone FR should look like, but are they not going to sound completely different?

Plutus Beast landed for me. Sounds quite decent with the stock cable, a mostly neutral and slightly brightish tone. Swapped the cable with QoA Whiskey as i wanted to test it with a 4.4mm terminated cable, and the sound has gained a good strength in the lower end as well bringing a more balanced approach. I would say with the Whiskey cable the result is amazing. Not to mention the outstanding designing by Celest is an eye-candy, will share comparison with OD100 in a few days.

And so it begins. I've gone through the first few songs and it's amazing how different these are yet each could be someone's endgame.

Left to right:
AüR Audio Aure (1DD, 6BA)
AüR Audio Neon Pro (10BA)
Sennheiser IE600 (1DD)
Night Oblivion Butastur (10BA)
AüR Audio Aurora (2DD, 6BA)

I have been pondering on buying one of Aur iems. Either Aurora or Aure, what would you say is the main difference?
My Music Library is 70% EDM, rest is mixed.

I see you're using Dunu S&S on Butastur. AS did not like them on Butastur while I never tried those IEMs.

No idea about Aure and Butastur, but from this collection I'd take Aurora (with EQ and specific amps) every day. Even for EDM I like them more than Neon Pro. Other than that Soundrhyme SR8, DTE900 and many Penon IEMs would be good bets.

Day 2 with the Penon Quattro.
This IEM is special!
Lots more to follow.

AüR Audio Ascension
To early for big impressions, but Abel has tuned another wonderful IEM.

Tribrid with:
Bass (1): 10mm pu+peek DD with N54 magnet
Midrange (4): E-Audio Improved RAB Dual Drivers
Treble (1): Knowles Tweeter
Ultra High (2): Sonion EST

------------------------------------------
Adding some more for today:

My AüR Audio Ascension landed today, another solid performer by them. 1DD+5BA+2EST

For people who have tried the Aurora, here you get similar sub bass but more mid bass, making it have more note weight and stronger slam. Mids are forward and similar but have some extra clarity going on, treble also being more energetic and airy.

Just some early impressions for now, need to AB later with their line-up and some other nice gems like DTE900 and U4s.

The light and angle makes it go from stealth mode on the faceplate to the colorful one.
