That thump that starts at 11 seconds isn’t bass?!?! 🤔
It sounds like a synth pluck with a kick drum. Puth uses Trillium and Kontakt extensively. You can play that part on bass guitar, if you would rather.

I am using my Mojo 2, a discovery for me, with my Meze 109 Pro tonight. Simply nice. My first Chord.
Congrats, my guy!
I think the Mojo OG is great. I have heard the 2nd iteration is even better.
109 Pro is fantastic as well.
Enjoy.

I’m trying to educate myself on the frequency of the bass I enjoy and this song is a perfect example of the slam I enjoy. If you don’t mind, what type of bass and frequency starts at 11 seconds into this song? Thanks!

I think the bass you enjoy is no-bass

;P

Explain how that isn’t bass?
Sorry m8. Regretted that as soon as I wrote it and saw the more helpful answers.

It's the bass you like. No problems there. Just not a very powerful bass note and therefore I wouldn't think you need a particularly bass focused iem to render it properly.

But I don't know anything about music so you can ignore this if you want.

Before I clicked play on the video, I thought the bass notes would be lower in the frequency range. Maybe that's what they were thinking too.

I think Antihippy is probably close with the FR of those bass notes.
Here's my favorite bassy pop song. Lots of thumpy mid bass throughout the song and then there's a big sub bass drop at the 2:30 mark. Her floating vocals throughout the song is pretty cool as well.

On the note of bass tests.

Sometimes I feel it's unfair to test bass on a masterful production as it's likely to sound good on anything. But I also take any chance I get to listen to this track with a new device.

First time I was able to visualise every part of an electronic kick. I could see under it, through it, around it.

Regarding bass test, I go to this track for gauging the depth of subbass, how distinguished are the three different levels of bass drops, textures of the lowest notes, how much pressure it exerts on the ears:
