I am 100% serious (dead serious) about the sources.
I mentioned that I spent a lot of time and money trying to match the signature of my old DAP that seriously affected my IEM selection (know thy sources, that is their colouring, became a hard-learned wisdom). Having 20+ (largely DAC) sources also taught me that a simple good DAC, like Apple one, can do a lot (but not everything).
I do not want to start a dispute about R2R ......just good colouring/processing may not need to be expensive, unless one likes it to be unique to feel special and unique...
A good way to go is to have a combination of a source-adaptive unit, like some good expensive IEMs or outright DSP unit, like in the Droplet. Alternatively, it is the "Andromeda" way, when even the charging level of the battery may matter, and a lot of discoveries
I got into R2R hardware only because I spotted a Cayin RU6 in my countrys classified ads. For just 150€ I got my hands on this DAC. DACs do matter. If they cannot provide the clarity the user desires then no amplifier or headphone upgrade will change that.
Did know Tony where getting both, fun seeing the AURE also in the comparisons. For me the 41T is safest and maybe my new at work IEM. P5 also getting some love, seems like it got forgotten fast by many while actually being a very great one.
Also got some insight that AFUL Performer 8 will be insane good for its price.

It's been a while since I've reviewed IEMS at this price point, but these TinHiFi C2s are good.
As a criticism, the latest batch of IEMS from the brand are around a similar and fairly accepted tuning. They seem to have taken more of a risk with the new C5.
SeeAudio X Zeos Rinko is getting some backlash due to their driver apparently not being a "micro planar driver", as claimed in the marketing materials.
HBB opened them up only to find no signs of a planar driver. It's a very cheap piezo film instead.
Guess people are mostly paying for the sleazy artwork here, but this misleading and false marketing by Chi-Fi brands must stop. TangZu is a serial offender, and now SeeAudio has joined in too.

I have one on my way, should be here shortly. Got recommended to try it with Tanchjim Oxygen filter, take out the original, insert the Oxygen filter, then put the original on top.
Relaxes the mids, also gives it a anti sibilance dip while enhancing upper treble.

And yet hypers hype these because they get freebies and the loyal supporters buy them without knowing majority of these so called "Reviewers" are the new late night infommercials. Luckily, its the cheaper brands. Imagine if 64Audio, FiR, Fatfreq or similar big brands had these kind of marketing with 0.01% dynamic driver installed, lol.
