HBB was onto something with that amount of bass, taking it away removed it's special sauce. Perhaps it's time to EQ the other frequencies to restore the balance of the lost bass, but then it wouldn't be Punch anymore
From the perspective of EQ, it's the same thing. Cutting one band is identical to boosting all the others. And IMO the EQ profile I hashed out still sounds good and maintains the Punch's "secret sauce." The bass is just much more toned down in quantity. The toughest part about tuning (or EQ) is managing how your adjustments affect other frequency bands and the overall timbre/tonality. It's like the proverbial situation of plugging a leak in a dam with your finger, only to see another leak appear, then another, and another, and so on. You quickly run out of fingers.

Haha, perhaps it was all Kiwi Ears
The engineers have to do the hard part of figuring out how to implement the gobs of bass that HBB suggests. Can't be easy. I've heard many IEMs with far less bass quantity that also have far less bass quality. At the very least, the Punch uses some decent drivers. Single-DD bass is clean the whole way down. And those ESTs are pulling off some nice magic. From everything I've heard from others, tuning ESTs isn't easy.

Sure are lookers.

I just saw them on Alix and are ready to get them.
But can you tell me if the sound is made for long listening sessions also not fatigue prone sound sig?

And is the wearing comfort any good.
Rest looks good on these and seems like a higher tier then the price would suggest.

And btw have a TRN shell on the way and when researching them the only video that was on youtube was yours.
I was like this guy goes hard🤣

Love your content btw, made me also buy A Dc Elite.
And helped with alot of purchasing descissons and saved me alot of$

There are almost no reviews on the purple, just some basic feedback.
And its from people who like the sound signature.

But i believe you may be right that it is not that great of an IEM.
And on the other hand i have seen great feedback on that Timsok iem. And have allready been on that shop and looked at it.
But i forgot that deal.
But now i may just get it for that price.

Thanks to you i now have a kind of top tier for half the price as an option.
I am probably going to get the Timsok, because i want a really good single DD👍
I'm always glad to steer you in the right direction with a purchase. Some things might seem like a good deal, but sometimes they are deals because they aren't worth the original price of admission. Then there's classics, like the Timsok, where the warm reception continues because they are an evergreen sound (like the Hype 2).
I just can't get enough of these BGVP Phantom SE . Wow, do these even turn my crank. I was trying not to listen to them too much while I was spending time with the UM Stardust because everything I hated about the UM the Phanom was doing it for me.

These might me one of my all-time favorite sets. I would pick up and these more even over the $16,999 Fugaku I listened too.

My review will be nothing but pure shilling and gushing over this set that came out of nowhere for me.

While my Omega is off getting repaired, My Szalayi is out on tour I don't care.

Rare for me to pick a Source in this case the ONIX XM5 and AZLA sednaearfit Short and stock baller cable and call it a day.

Also my Canadian pride kicking in with The Maple Burlwood and Red resin shells killing it with the Snake Edition 🐍.

I am a massive stage hound and vocal lover and not sure what's the secret sauce with the Phantom the Sonion BA'S or the Sonion BCD and the way they vent it out with a special hole right at the concha area but whatever is happening loving it.

BGVP Fanboi has been made.
Yeah, that's one hell of a beautiful IEM, and @theintention and @Scubadevils would agree with your impressions as well!!
Oooh. That sentence grabbed my attention!

The shells on those BGVP look wild, @ToneDeafMonk. Are they a mix of wood and resin?
Oh the SP01 is superior to the Kefine's in every possible way. It's one of my no brainer recs. Only thing that bums me out is that I bought the Klean and the SP01 at the same time, and I didn't need the Klean LOL
hmm... last few hours with coupons and it's $62... probably a GOOD deal. But bro.. BRO!!!!!! the CK2V just came in. and I'm ALL SMILES. Oh baby that bass... not even burned in and they sound like they will absolutely SLAY the H20. [will these be the H20 on STEROIDS?! there's probably NO WAY I'm keeping the H20 now!]
These things are LEGIT and I have no clue why some people were saying the treble was too sharp... these things are MUSICAL, a bit warm [but so far, not too warm for my cold-blooded sensibilities]

The cable is DOPE as well... branded with CKLVX and even the CK2V model name, and modular 3.5 and 4.4. I was gonna use the XINHS Summer Elves cable because it's nicely forest green, but the stock cable on the CK2V is sooo good. AND the EAR TIPS... other than some KZ models [their tips are really underrated for stock tips] almost NO IEM has come with tips on them that fit me like a GLOVE right from the factory. They are kinda like Final Audio E tips. Will this be the first IEM where I don't replace the cable and tips EVER???

BRO I am addicted already. These things have a big CLUB stage sound with sub-woofer bass* and relatively clear vocals with just a hint of warmth. I'd be SHOCKED if the SP01 could offer me anything this CK2V doesn't offer... for $143 I am astounded. They look so handsomely stunning as well...

*GAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH the subbass is earquake level. "Queen Mary" by Francine Thirteen... Oh my stars... I'm speechless. This has GOTTA be a discount Punch.
You'all have 6 HOURS to convince me I still "need" the SP01 hahahaha.
Congrats on the great find! Yeah, the H20 is a fabulous musical IEM, and it's a definitive keeper for me. I have so many of those brightish v with a touch of warmth from bass bleed IEMs. This is why I really enjoy the H20, FIVE, Decet, KB02, and Explorer. They are all more bassy musical, and go against my usual slew of bright neutral and u-mild v shaped IEMs that dominate my rotation past and present.\

@Waqar - According to that graph and his impressions, this CVJ is a bright set. So not sure it's designed as a fatique free listen, but you never know? Just depends on your hearing health and how well you digest bright signatures. I love them, and this looks like something right up @jbfps116 's alley?

Mid forward airy set? Guess I'll pull the trigger then. And it looks beautiful too.

Yes, but the ZVX Pro is a same/better IEM for $12. Also with full metal shell [obviously worse accessories though.] I think the ZVX Pro is just more detailed and capable under what I'm calling now "audio duress" AKA intense, fast music. It's not the last word on musicality though. It CAN come across as clinical in a few cases.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. Amazing this can compete technically with the Klean...looks like a real breakthrough in the around 10 dollar segment. It seems in terms of driver quality the evolution is EDC Pro/Libra/etc > Saga/Libra X > ZVX Pro. Do you think tuning the ZVX Pro to the Saga Bal's tuning would beat the Sagas at their own game? I could ask the same for retuning the Libra X, but this seems to have a better driver. I use Hiby Musics PEQ. I should have asked earlier as the sale ends at midnight. Ill be ordering one of them.

The ZVX Pro, for my ears, are a bit better than the Klean, but I'm sure the SP01 are a LOT better than the Klean. I guess I could sell my Zenith in a lot to justify getting the SP02?? But dang, if this CK2V isn't PRACTICALLY end-game for me [I know this addiction hobby makes it hard to really quit] I don't know what it. I'm not even thinking about the other 6-7 IEMs I have incoming... even the mysterious XINHS HS80... the CK2V has all the bass I could EVER want, and the bass is tuned about perfect for my preferences... Treble is amazing... really... like my Nautilus cost $800, and I would NOT bat an eye if someone put these in my ears and told me they cost the same price. [Nautilus is more about STAGE and shockingly good treble, but also has stunning bass too.]

oh these are in another universe compared to the H20. Sure, the H20 is good, but... haha. not as stunning as these CK2V are. Although I admit, I think the H20 is more of a slow burn for me... one of those sets that sounds better every time you try them. The CK2V was jaw-dropping out of the box. Treble extension and air is just way, WAY better than the H20's. The only way I think someone could think the treble is too much is if they only like DARK IEMs.

Why are they called Mermaid and looks like a deer antlers on the faceplate? weird.

The Phantom use a block of Burlwood and resin and CNC machined the shells so cool.

Yeah was afraid it my be a bit bright since its a CVJ, but yes one never know if it is tolerable or even enjoyable bright.

Guess its only one way to find out.

On moderate volume levels I would say depends on your upper mids tolerance, the highs are not too spicy so for me they are fine. I am also 55 so I probably can tolerate more , need more.

Why are they called Mermaid and looks like a deer antlers on the faceplate? weird.
R2E3 is the Colaberator and that's thier logo

Is the tuning on the Phantom Snake Edition different from the Phantom Special Edition? Been tempted to swing on the latter a few times but that snake edition is not for me.
Exactly the same tuning.
The OG had a touch more bass. From what I saw.
