I can confirm Estrella is very airy. One of the best treble extension on entry midfi class. Approved!

I just don't like the bass quality as I mentioned before but mids and trebles (and extension) are solid. Better than Hype2 and Hype4 (hype4 sounded disjointed because of dip on 10-13khz then strong boost on 15khz made them have light sizzle on top end)

@mrsergey you can consider this also (still If you want to do some works on your Shock, i prefer the Shock any day)

I feel like it’s gonna be kinda boring if I’m being honest, the bass boost is gonna stick out too much against the flatter mids and treble, along with the early treble roll off. Remember I’m not allergic to treble, I’m allergic to unbalanced treble lol, to refute your argument that I’ll like it just cuz I’m treble sensitive.

The bass is NOT intrusive or does the boost "stick out". You know me, and my allergy to boosted bass. It walks the line in a fine fashion in a way like the H60 does. It's like both are world class gymnasts, and they are able to get on that balance beam and do their thing elegantly without going over. Do you really think I'm gonna dig the Explorer if it had boosty or bloaty bass? I couldn't stand the TRN VX Pro+ because that had borderline bloaty bass. The Explorer is something you'd be keen on, and I guarantee you if you tried it, like Mikey, you'd like it.

I am just experiencing this in Thieaudio Hype 4 -> Monarch MK III direction. Later is better, sure, but should I keep it for that bigger price ? I am really hesitating now.

I had the opposite first impression. I liked it SO much with the switches off, that when I turned them on, it seemed to mess up the sound for me. To the point where I was wondering if my switches were wired backward [they aren't!]

You not the only one that think so.
I'm also mostly use the fan 3 with switch at "off" position.
When the switch at "on" position, the vocals sound weird and thin to me.
But it doesn't mean that i don't like the fan 3 with the BC activated, i just prefer the richer vocals when the switch at "off" position.

Currently on third song of this Sick album via BT on BTR7 feeding the P5+2-2+2 (I know, @MakeItWain, it's not complex enough, but you're simply a better mathematician).

The step down from wired BTR7 to BT is pretty significant, I wonder if it's less noticeable on the BTR17.

I have the ddHiFi Balanced Adapter already it’s very good. I may just try using my Little Dot Mk II with some cheap IEM’s first. If it works out all good or maybe they go Ka-boom . Otherwise I’ll invest in another tube Amp.

Cheers! the mag glass rig is via eBay. A tube amp as small as the K11 R2R form factor would be cool, but improbable - taking into account full sized tubes socket housings?
Over speakers I usually "warm up" the K11 using audio-in via the P1Plus. I agree: a combined R2R/Tube unit would be cool. I'll be rolling the Douk asap with Burson V5's to try to eke out extra resolution & stage.
