So... Favorite IEM(s) for up $300 so far, and why if able.

Edit: Or just plain headgear at this point.
  1. Letshuoer S12 24 - Balanced tuning with big soundstage. Pretty resolving for its price point.
  2. qdc x FitEar Superior EX - Neutral-warm tuning with very big soundstage. Smooth, relaxing listen.
  3. Audeze Maxwell - They're not IEMs, but you did say headgear. They're wireless headphones that can be paired with Bluetooth or with a wireless USB dongle for PCs and gaming consoles. They're advertised as a gaming headset, but they're still the best sounding headphones I've heard around this price point. They're also closed-back, but they sound very open due to being built for competitive gaming, which means soundstage and imaging are spot on.

Did you try the tape mod on the H60? That's my only comment about this comparo, aside from good job.
Thanks!
No, I didn't. You are right, I should have. Would be interesting to hear if it makes any difference.

Maxwell is under appreciated, IMO, for a great music + gaming headset.

Another sell off gonna happen, which will include a few lower rotationals and the ONIX Alpha. Great deals all.

Evening two with 7Hz Salnotes Zero...and bliss...hmm, I wonder if Zero 2 sounds even better...

Cheers!

Only one way to find out! Buy it! I've had both in my possession, and I'd say the Zero 2 is a minor upgrade, as it has more warmth and bass punch, with just a tad less treble energy.

I believe you guys, but 490g is just too much. My 375g 109 Pro soon gets annoying to carry on my head.

The weight dispersion is very, very good on the Maxwell vs a lot of Audeze's line up (where you feel like you're going to get neck gains if you start squatting) but I get it.

They also have nice earpads that you can change out form Dekoni and Wicked cushions. I have the Dekoni Elite Sheepskin on mine. So good.

Mine was the wife heard and saw an IEM on my burn station burning in, and she yelled "Babe, you bought another earphone?! You're burning that one in!" She even used the term burning in. So yes, my wife is now in tune with my hobby. That's my wife.
My wife is as well. She goes into the room where my burning station is, comes out and says, " Ah, you're burning in, are you?" She has incredible hearing as well!

You would have LOVED my 544-gram Audeze LCD-2C and 612-gram Audeze LCD-X 2021. :)

But I found neither of them uncomfortable because the suspension headband on both did a nice job distributing weight.

Shock with Q15 is also pretty outstanding. A bit smoother and more relaxed listen compared to the very detailed and transparent DC Elite, but bass and dynamics are still excellent. Very musical and immersive combo.
I wonder how the Q15 compares to K11 R2R.

I went with the Dekoni velours. My ears kept touching the drivers before the pad swap, but they're good now with the denser foam of the Dekonis. I also got the WC headband, which has an extra set of holes for sizing. They were either too tight or too loose before, but now they fit perfectly and I can wear them all day without any fatigue.
