Personally, I'm not a fan of single BA sets. Generally, these are the weakest driver configuration in my book, combining the worst traits of a single driver (namely weaker technicalities and poor sub-bass extension), and a BA driver (namely BA timbre).

From brief listening, I am pleasantly surprised with the MagicOne. If I didn't know that the MagicOne is a single BA, I would have thought that it was a multi-driver pair.

It is quite well tuned, neutralish and well-balanced. Very good technical chops for a single driver, soundstage is definitely above average with very nice imaging.

Bass is textured, fast and clean, though like most BA bass IEMs, the sound isn't as natural in terms of bass decay/movement of air (compared to DD bass). There is a bit of a sub-bass roll-off and this IEM is probably not for bassheads. The MagicOne is non-fatiguing in the upper frequencies, though there is a hint of BA timbre.

This IEM has good isolation, though it is surprisingly hard to drive.

I think it might even make a good stage monitor, cause of the neutralish profile with good technicalities and isolation. Will do more testing and report back.

If you liked that model, check this out:

And these are mine:

The Acoustune HS2000MX MK2 and the original MK1 are the world’s first IEMs with replaceable acoustic chambers. I tested one this year and it features an interchangeable chamber system. It operates via taking out a holding pin and removing a cover.

Pretty pricey though, I think the MK2 was retailing north of $2000 USD.

In stock tuning, the HS2000MX MK2 sound mildly V-shaped, with brilliant technicalities and crisp transients. The other four modules are sold separately, and they change the FR when installed.

There are five different acoustic chambers to play with:
Stainless steel + birch wood module
Brasa wood module
Aluminum module
Brass module
Copper module (stock)

Where will there be a deal on 11/11 for the BQEYZ Wind? Can’t find it on AliExpress ( old links on this site don’t work). Hifigo doesn’t appear to have it on sale.

Probably very new releases won't have substantial discounts. But you can stack coins and aliexpress coupons to slightly drive down the price. maybe ballpark 10% discount at best?

The Wind is very unique compared to the usual Harman sidegrades. It has great timbre, big sub-bass and huge soundstage due to the open backed design. But you get penalties in isolation. The BC really works to generate a tactile visceral sub-bass. Midrange is quite transparent despite the big bass. Needs amplification though.

I have been so eager to wait for your impression of the Magic One to check whether I'm hearing correctly. Glad that our impressions seem to align.

Hifigo just let me know that the Magic One retails for $139.99

The designer of the BQEYZ Wind needs some serious scolding for blasting those words on the faceplate. It looks like someone paste a text on a photo.

Haha personally I'd take a good sounding but ugly looking IEM any day over a beautiful but crap sounding one. Once it is inside the ears, you can't see it, but you can very well hear it haha.

So, you would stay away from Kinera IEMs, eh? :dt880smile:

$140 for a single BA is actually crazy. Was hoping it would be $100 max

IMHO, it's all about the sound. For example, Symphonium Helios was $1100 for 4BA, but they absolutely delivered. The fact that they made that sound with 4BA make them even more interesting. For my personal enjoyment, I enjoy Magic1 the most among the batch that I have tested recently (Aurora, Supernova, Diva2023). Yes, it was absolutely slaughtered by the other three in bass response, but in terms of staging and imaging when I listen to my classical library, I have to say I enjoy magic1 more than all other three. How they did that with just 1BA, a circuit, and some coily tubes is interesting. This wouldn't be $140 if it comes from a boutique maker and carries some four-letter abbreviation technologies.

Precisely. Your ears will not dissect how many drivers there are. One high quality and well implemented driver will sound better than 10 of lesser quality and poorer implemented drivers and/or worsely tuned.

Hence, getting too caught up on "this costs too much for X amount of drivers" is maybe a thing of the past.

In the end, it's all about finding your preferred signature(s) and then your optimal IEM(s) within your budget.

Completely agree to this point man. I couldn't put the pair down myself for some time now. While on my desk I am powering it with the M15S.

I almost forgot to post my impressions here about this set. This is truly surprises me a lot, I really like how it was tuned that it takes at least 90% of one of my preferred tuning, a balanced-neutral sound profile. I love how it renders naturally and quite detailed on both male and female vocals, from Louis Armstrong to Diana Damrau, their vocal quality has texture, depth and volume for a neutral sounding set. Ill compare it with AUDIOSENSE DT100 and an ETY set.

Debbie Harry of Blondie sounds captivating and pleasant to listen with her contralto vocals here in this track.
