Waiting to face the monday with full strength with the Grand Rider 2 lol. It pairs so beautifully with the Sony WM1A MK2. Been enjoying this since evening today. And i am enjoying this way more than the Grand Bersker 2, it has too much bass for my taste hehe. Riku was right about them being a pure basshead level earbud.

Is the cable detachable, like the new Tanchjim DSP iems?
My question to you is does the Tanchjim DSP sound correct with other IEMs? I say this as the DSP effect with the EW100 seems to be very specific and changed the old EW100p to a whole new sound. It went from 2016 Harman to 2019 Harman Target, but also was given a whole different DSP effect soundstage. What I’m saying is the tone has been changed, that and the imaging properties. So the music is both softer and spread-out into a different stage. Maybe this would not be wanted or even needed for other IEMs, hence stuff like the TINHIFI TC01 (with it’s clean response) being more wanted and more compatible with most models?
No, hardwired.

But it’s a DSP effect, I have the TINHIFI TC01 on the way which is just a small plug, like a mini Dongle in a plug. Doesn’t alter the sound. Comes with a copper wire and 2Pin.

The other thing is the midrange. I mean if the Monarch II and the Hype 2 share a midrange character, that’s really something. To me anyway the mids are almost more important than the sparkles? And if the sparkles are the only thing separating them.........well? I mean is the midrange imaging and stage the same, between the two? I’m saying all this and I have not even heard the Monarch II, lol.

But the Monarch II is more money so.....the mids must be good! Hehe

The tuning is very close indeed. It’s just that the midrange of Monarch II is denser with information. Hype2 feels sparser and more smoothened (not like “mellower” but less detailed).

From memory, the stage of Hype2 is more spread out than Monarch II. I particularly enjoy listening to pentatonix with Hype2. The music is sparse enough for Hype2 to separate every voice cleanly. The placement is precise, with some but not much depth.

When you talk about sparkle, i think you are talking about 8k-ish region. Personally I don’t want too much of this region either. 15-16kHz is where most “technical performance” comes from. Of cource, we can have IEM like hype2 and helios with strong extension, but the midrange could be more nuanced and detailed.

Thank-you for that.

While Thieaudio used the word HYPE in naming due to Hybrid Performance, I can’t help but think of the last slang definition, being one meaning?

For me Hype 2 IS addictive!! Today i Will try A/B vs Quintet

Hopefully I will be able to compare those two today also.

I mean the thing is (just guessing) they would be wonderfully different.

Con suerte, hoy también podré comparar esos dos.

Quiero decir, la cuestión es (solo una suposición) que serían maravillosamente diferentes.
For me Hype 2=Raptgo Hook X + a little better resolution overall and better dynamics. The fit IS also way better. Hype 2 IS efficient.

question - when will audio get more detailed than we can hear, to a number of samples higher than our brains can process, faster than nueron firings?

What interesting to me is that there is always a next level, kinda like video game graphics. Whenever I think that “there is no way the sound can be more detailed / more separated / better imaging”, something would come along and blow my mind. I wonder when we would reach the brick wall. Right now, things like subtonic storm seems to be pushing the boundary. One day, maybe not too far from now, that tech would be accessible, and then something would overcome it. Maybe those xMEMs drivers would change everything.

We are all looking for involvement and how ever way that one thing is found. Though I think new ideas and technology do bring new and different ideas to the experience, it seems IEMs since about 2013 have gotten better and better at adding involvement?
