The discovery thread!

Got the shipping notification for the Canon 2 finally, still no other squigs or reviews have shown up. I might actually be helping "discover" a bit. lol

I'll try and be a good photographer and take some macro shots of them before I fingerprint and grease them to high hell.

hahaha I ordered a MeetAlice cable yesterday as well. Ordered 4.4mm MMCX because they didn't have 2 pin - have absolutely no need it for it - gonna have to find a iem with MMCX to order now!
We are like pet owners buying leash without pet😁

I decided to buy this W4-EX due to the good sound reputation of the brand, but mostly for the volume adjustment knob.
(which for me has a great added value)

I have to say it sounds really good to my ears.

It has a crystal clear sound, no hiss (that I can hear) on any IEM that I own.

The display and management of the configuration menu are practical and easy to use.

The DAC is very light and does not heat up even after hours
(which certainly favors its low battery consumption on the smartphone)

EQ profiles are effective and really change the sonic signature.
(not like some dip-switches on some IEMs)

As soon as possible, I would like to try RU7, but I am strongly torn between RU6 and RU7.
Wow congrats on your TOTL dac dongle!

Surely it shall be best sounding dongle available, hope L&P make it more affordable though😭😭😭

Audiosense T800 is still on sale on AliExpress ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

EPZ 620 appears to be MMCX as well.

AüR Audio Aurora is in the house, first listen is very good.
Can share more later, I should have much more time before going into detail.

Keywords for now: Fun, Detailed, Smooth and Natural

@Leonarfd what about the shape?
Looks way more conventional than Aure (the green one) which was a big struggle for my ears
The shape is more universally ergonomic, since the fin is gone. Size is similar maybe a little smaller. Can share photos beside NP and Aure later.

https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/fiio-fw3.26553/review/31025/ These things are on preorder for $70 on aliexpress. You like your sound beefy with a large and in charge stage. These are fantastic TWS IEMs. My take on them

Thank you.
I took the 'economic' model, however yes the price is extraordinarily high.

Apart from other considerations, I fear that the implementation of the volume/menu wheel is expensive, and (from what I've read) it features a custom ASIC
(a field in which L&P would seem to be masters), the design of which certainly is cost a lot.

Congratz!

Fedex says they delivered Aurora to my doorsteps.

Oh boy…now the expensive IEM is sitting on my front porch that we often get amazon delivery thieves 😱😱😱

Yes yes, I had read your description a few days ago, and also your review on RU7.

The fact that RU6 and 7 cost about the same, and I would tend to go for the 7, if the difference in sound wasn't huge.

In short, if RU7 provided me with that sufficiently 'analogue' sound to try, I'd be satisfied.
RU6 could be had for about $180 right now with the AE sale, while the RU7 is $290, which is over $100 more.

I was tempted to get the RU7 but I want to try out the R-2R sound and hear for myself if it's good.

Also thought about getting the HiBy FC6 from the Linsoul sale, but decided to go with Cayin instead.

sure we in europe pay more import taxes but the whole package thievery and the thought that packages are just left on the porch are baffeling to me.

Here in EU, or at least here in Italy, we pay VAT when purchase from AE.

So, what is for you USD 180, for me is 250 EUR (at least from Cayin Official).
(if you know about other offer, please let me know).

But, yes, RU7 costs 344 EUR, so more or less 100 EUR more.

There is no Cayin store available for mfkin Ger.

@Ferdinando1968 Is it the official Cayin store?
