But at times it’s just called 3 kHz. So they must zero in on the most sensitive area, which is actually the female voice, as we are more sensitive to female speaking.

I guess that’s from sound science post, any citations who said that phrase?

I truly want that driver to be good 🥺😅

The relaxed pinna is compensated with spicier 5-6k and more 8k. Smooth replay but still sparkly where is needed. It feels like an ambitious and well thought project 🤞
any updates on release date? I thought it supposed to be out from Linsoul today

No it’s basic common knowledge? Everyone who is into this stuff knows it? You think Google borrowed stuff from Head-Fi SS? I don’t think so.

Note the graph is exactly 2kHz to 5kHz. That is they use as a guide.

But remember I’m only guessing that is what the Vocal Cables does. Because it is exactly what I hear it doing. Dsnuts also now goes along with the idea with the Vocal Cable, so he must hear it too? That or we are all crazy? :)

But if Dr Olive says 3kHz to 4kHz that’s fine too! See how it is?

The Hidizs MS5 is a tunable 4BA + 1DD hybrid, retailing at $300ish USD.

Here are some quick impressions, with photos and graphs:
Hidizs MS5 Photo.jpeg

The DD is a Custom Liquid Silicone DD, whereas the BAs are 4 Sonions. Usually Sonion containing gear would be way more expensive than this. The housings remind me of a bicycle helmet haha.

Graph via IEC 711 coupler, 8 kHz is a coupler artefact.

It has 3 screw-on tuning nozzles to vary the signature subtly. The red and gold nozzle are quite similar in tonality, but the silver one is definitely a treble-headed signature. The 3 nozzles give a variant of a bright U-shaped signature.

Hidizs MS5 Nozzle.jpeg

In terms of sonics, this set is quite technical, scores well against other $300ish hybrids, other than an average soundstage depth/height.

It has a 5.3ohm impedance, so based on the rules of eights, this set is best paired with sources with a 0.66ohm output impedance or less.

Will do more listening and comparisons and report back with a final update.
My review will be something like this already done waiting for the 21st as requested.

For people who are treble sensitive this one is NOT for you. Formal Review on the 21st on my YouTube Channel

DD is wicked but hard to hear over the noise from the massive energy at 5K 6K 7K 8K 9K.

When you are Treble sensitive you get a completely different experience from people who are not and it changes the entire experience for you.

The MS5 is not a neutral IEM more Treble-heads unique very niche tuning IEM.

So here is a riddle....

7Hz Legato arrived yesterday and my ears telling me I am listening to ISN Audio D10.
OK, my ears are older than I like them to be, but they are not a totally lost case.

Anybody else with both sets who could offer 2 cents?

Cheers.
I haven’t done side-by-sides yet between the two, but from memory I can only say you are only partially correct. Meaning they are both bass heavy IEMs true, but the 7Hz is slightly more diffuse and strangely uneven in reproduction. I don’t mean that in a totally negative way, I just saying the ISN D10 is clearer, more straightforward, more classic in approach? But I will try them back to back! Good idea.

I didn’t get the note to wait until 21, so I went ahead with the review :dt880smile: I don’t mind the amount of treble, but the timbre of treble is trouble with certain tracks. I might be too used to these IEMs now, so the uncanny appears less and less. But still, it's very Hidizs: strong technical, going their own way with the tuning. This time they take a page from the likes of UM and Noble.
