Wasn’t that you or someone else here said the mascot was sad on Yume midnight box because Crin forced her to follow his target curve :dt880smile:

Speaking of the midnight, what happened to that one? I’m surprised it didn’t blow up like the Dusk.
No it wasn't me. Never heard the Midnight. HA......she looks incredibly young on Yume One, then older and grown-up on Yume Two. There is a bunch really any only a few that will end-up classics, I feel. In my day we had Heavy Metal Magazine and Famous Monsters of Filmland.......Marvel Comics and Ghost Rider. :book:

I have Yume OG and know why…
Yume’s DD has BA like speed, it claims LCP but not certainly proper one. I bet the coil has very short travel distance, so the impact it can generate is very limited. Sorry See Audio, but Moondrop’s single BA Droplet does more bass slam than Yume’s dynamic, even if I EQ’d those.

Also, it’s 29689 + RAD if I recall it correctly, it has physical limits in technicalities, no matter how nicely tuned, Yume has a cap. You see the sale for Crin’s another collab, FH3 alternative, FiiO FHE (2BA+1Dd). I have FHE, it’s good. Super sub-bass focused with nicely tuned 2BA. But that’s it. After getting used to 4BA+1 class, a regular 2BA+1DD is just not enough. Except those anomalies like Z1R or IKKO’s.

The RE00 got tossed in the wooden graveyard as well. So far the kings of budget in my personal collection seem to be the Zero Audio Tenore. These oldies but goodies continue to hold their own against even the modern gears. Still more gear to be compared as I run them thru the Sony A306.

Picked up the Fiio Q3 on sale. It's got all three outputs (3.5 and two balanced), so no more adapters for me. Straight to balance mode from the cable end! I've also read that it's more neutral than the Q1 mk II, which is the amp I own along with my Mont Blanc, which sounds killer to this day, but lacks balanced outputs.

The original Yume had good tonality (other than sub-bass roll-off) but had grade C technicalities, which IMHO is not really acceptable to be a one-trick pony at that price point.

I'm testing the Yume 2 now and thankfully it is an upgrade on the Yume in technicalities, much much better. Will drop some impressions soon.

Yume 2 vs P5 when?

Okay guys, I don't know exactly where the line is... but discussions of blowup Waifus may count as a running jump as far as stepping over it! :astonished:

Well, you have to go by the group consensus, which is actually pretty good, as a whole? SeeAudio Yume has been relatively well received as a whole? The box art I am not swayed either way, I’m neutral, yet maybe as a positive, it’s better than all black or all white. But the only interest I have is does it somehow reflect the IEM, you know like Yume simply being young on Yume one, then getting sophisticated on Yume 2? Where Rinko has obviously been out on a night on the town. Her demeanor is sloppy and loose, maybe? My Gosh, maybe, just maybe I’m into the boxes?
That’s negative biased extremism cherry picking for any particular topic you targeted to defame man… not a respectable thing you’d do.

I can bring exact same type of nasty picture of anything, simply because that’s an extreme eccentric exhibition of any hobby.

Man…

In case you missed:
Some Background of Anime Cutural influence to IEM market.
Haha in Chinese local market there are many audience like me and Moondrop’s SEO who shares the same “language”.
By the way he just become a father of his first baby👍

Pic of Moondrop’s company listening room, Mark Levinson. All those anime posters, I know exact what series are they and I’m a fan of those as well. For that I and Moondrop’s SEO share same “language” and sub-cultures.

One of the poster’s series

“Violet Evergarden” is actually my all time best series, including all movies/dramas/literatures/novels/poetries/drawings/all artworks. It’s not about cute girls, it’s about human, family, and love. I have only sizable few series that had my tears, this is one of them.

“The story follows Violet Evergarden, a young ex-soldier whose recent employment at a postal company tasks her with writing letters that can connect people”—From wiki

Unfortunately, while many of the artists were working on publishing Violet Evergarden, many of them died of Kyoto-Animation arson attack —the worst massacre in Japan ever since WWII, 38 Kyokto-Animation Studio employee died, 34 seriously injured with life-lasting second-third-degree burns —that led Yorushika to make a tribute album named “Plagiarism”.
President of Japan, Taiwan, Tim Cook, and many other government officials made official condolences.

Anyhow, Even they’ve lost the most of the original films, Kyoto-Animation studio published the series with 2 years of delay. All of victims’ family hoped that series to be completed even without the victims(project team for Violet Evergarden). It’s available on Netflix if anyone interested, great for audiences 20-100yo. For that, I know Moondrop knows the incident knows Violet Evergarden, and thus as a comrades of the same passion, I like their products.

Anime market is 23B USD big (most likely 1000-10000x larger than wired IEM market) with millions (or maybe billions globally) of audiences, so it is a cost-effective way to utilize it as an outreaching marketing approach for Chinese/Japanese/Asian Market.

It’s not just “waifu” for kids, slash period type of thing. It is a culture. And as far as we are dealing with Chinese IEMs, this cultural influence will be very evident for those targeting younger generations. We the western culture audiences are merely a main target of them, so there aren’t many we can say, unless we could possess a huge chunk on their sales. My guesstimate of market share of global vs asian is 1:9 so far.

For Jiu’s motive, the Azurulane has 10Million players, and they’ve scored billions of revenue, it is pretty smart marketing.

One of the game I was running was a Japanese online game , which had 5Million active-player base, and 1 out of 3 people of the whole population for 20-30yo Japanese 60% Male 40% female were playing that game. 33% of 20-30yo (20Million) 7M total-player base. Hope this helps for seeing the big picture here. It is as big as big sports games (soccer/rugby/basketball etc) combined, maybe not a third of any generation are interested in big sports, but it was that influential.

When Azurelane hit their 1st anniversary, the company actually celebrated with their ad banners lit on multiple central skyscrapers as well as China’s symbolic Oriental Pearl Tower at Shanghai, China. That means Eiffel Tower or Statue of Liberty to Western Culture were illuminated with the Waifu Game on it. That’s something, right? Almost a religious influence.

I’m pretty sure that campaign gonna cost a fortune just for 1 whole building alone, not to mention about Oriental Pearl Tower…

It is as effective as you hiring Ariana Grande as a package PR lady in China. At least 10Million people would recall seeing that package than a plain classy apple style.

This is happening today, one of my favorite virtual youtuber singer, made her debut at heart of Tokyo—Japanese Times Square, Shinjuku, Tokyo—

3D live lasted for 90minutes with half a million of audiences.

So that’s basically the cultural background and macro-mechanism of Eastern market outreaching marketing.

Double posts and let’s stop derailing futher. This is IEM discovery topic.

Just be respectful and do not attack other cultures, this is international forum and be aware there are many others that have different belief and perspectives.

The market is capitalism based, and main capital is eastern culture based for this IEM market. Objection vote is valid and executable, but in order for that vote to take effect, Non-Eastern customers probably need to buy $100M or 200M USD goods / year to earn proper voting rights which is not happening at this moment. That’s what it is, we are minority foreigners to this IEM kingdom.

IEM market is trying to survive at any cost, whatever it takes, a new inflow of young audiophiles are gems to keep this whole industry going. I’ve done same type of demographic management with millions of populations with wide variety of age/sex/diversity, and know how a certain community would grow or collapse very well. New and Younger generation influx is a must. I’ve also adopt anime marketing and kept online forum open for fan-arts, it generated huge channels of fan art and related sub BBS, and finally became a micro-culture. IEM market is following my approach, especially See Audio.

We, the old folks, have gentlemen‘s responsibility and noblesse oblige to keep this hobby to be sustainable, so try to be nice to younger generation’s hobby and culture. Try keep that objection inside you, so we may keep this dying breed a bit more sustainable.

Better suited for the cable threads, but some here might have interest. Been buying many cables from ISN, Penon, NiceHCK, Tripowin, XINHS and probably some more I don't remember now.

The hype some says about XINHS is real, before I have mostly bought the cheaper ones from XINHS and NICEHCK. And sticked to Penon and ISN for cables at $50 and upwards.

The 4 Core Single Crystal Copper Silver Plated wire is at the same amount of quality and sound as the Penon OS849.

It's thick, but soft to the feel, the weight is just right so it's not to heavy or light. And as always XINHS is very helpful if you have custom inquiry. My last order were 30cm longer for my desktop for no extra cost.

The EA500 is another vocal specialist in my list along with the KC2. The bass was punchy, treble is crispy. A lot of detail. Good 3D sound stage, in some tracks, I can feel like I'm at the recording Mic position. Basically, this unit set a whole new level in the lower budget range.

NiceHCK OrangeSir
US $13.19
https://a.aliexpress.com/_mOZ11oW

With qdc connectors, I read that the pins are reversed? Does it affect anything at all?

Aslong both sides has the same polarity nothing should change. But I'm no electrical person, so probably someone else know something here. I really like the angled connector's.
