I totally regret passing up the D7000's when they were selling new for $535

I bought second hand for $700 as they were discontinued.
I could probably sell them for $850+ now

Whats really surprising is the total number of amazon returns. I've never seen so many returns in this price range.

How do you check that?

Sennheiser HD 700 $729.99 Factory Refurbished
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_143HD700R/Sennheiser-HD-700-Factory-Refurbished.html?tp=36761

Nice, Sennheiser still provides a 2-year warranty despite refurb. Then again I suppose these are headphones, not a PC or anything.

They were $150 about a week or so ago. :p Came so close to biting, but heard it was on the bassy side... aka not for me.

That's the first time I've seen a refurbished Senn advertised as having a full 2-year warranty, they're usually 90 days. You'd probably want to get in touch with Crutchfield to verify its not an error where they copied over the warranty info from the new item.

Then again I wouldn't be super surprised if the $1000+ refurbed Senns have a longer warranty than their other headphones.

Get a pair of factory refurbished HD 700 headphones and save money while getting the peace of mind that comes with Sennheiser's standard two-year warranty.

Sounds like it was specifically written so that the refurbished model still carries the standard warranty.

From Sennheiser's website (http://en-de.sennheiser.com/service-support/services/warranty-conditions):
Quote:
  1. Refurbished Products: Carry the standard warranty**
** Remanufactured product warranties are only valid when purchased from an authorized Sennheiser reseller. Excludes any remanufactured Headphone, TeleCom Headset, or Bluetooth® product, which carry a 90-day warranty. Out of warranty TeleCom headset replacements have a 1 year warranty.

As Crutchfield is a well-known and authorized reseller, it looks like this is legit. Pretty cool.

EDIT: herpderp I can't read. Excludes any remanufactured headphone. I suppose contacting Crutchfield directly will be the best course of action.

EDIT2: just got off the chat with a Crutchfield representative.

Morgan: Welcome to Crutchfield Online Chat. I'm Morgan. How can I help you today?
Me: Hi, I had a question regarding a Sennheiser refurbished HD700
Me: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_143HD700R/Sennheiser-HD-700-Factory-Refurbished.html?tp=36761
Me: the product description states that the remanufactured product carries a standard Sennheiser 2 year warranty
Me: but Sennheiser's website states that their remanufactured headphones are an exception to the standard warranty policy and are only guaranteed for 90 days
Me: which is correct?
Me: Sennheiser's warranty page here : http://en-de.sennheiser.com/service-support/services/warranty-conditions
Morgan: Great question, I am fairly sure that the 2 years is correct when purchased through us, but let me double check on that.
Morgan: I am still digging to get the 100% sure answer. My buyer for those is out at the moment and we are trying to pull up our documentation to show for sure.
Morgan: Would you like to hang out here on chat for a little bit or have me email you when I get the answer?
Me: It's no problem, I can wait
Morgan: Okay
Morgan: Alright, just got the answer back from a supervisor that it is a 2 year warranty when purchased from us. It was a special deal we were given from Sennheiser.
Me: okay that is fantastic
Me: thanks for the info!

Looks like the product description is correct.

Saw this on Ebay.

Colorfly c3 for $40usd....

Tempted to risk it, might be a big pricing mistake but not sure.

Just wanted to update anyone that is interested or bought this. I purchased the day that I saw this post and have it four business days before opting for a refund via paypal. Not sure if the seller has even shipped any out yet. I had not mine shipped with ample time tbh. I don't have the patience to wait around for something like this to be shipped, and it is mildly sketchy that the listing was thrown down a few hours after the initial buys. Just letting you guys know, to be careful of this ad. Thanks!

Update: After talking with PakoBoy his has been shipped, so just slow shipment.

@lkarios

Cool, thanks. That was my guess, that it must have been an exclusive deal Senn gave Crutchfield that allowed them to offer the full warranty. That's a huge bonus for a refurbished item, especially one that costs that much. Great find.

Fiio e17 new on Amazon $100 + $5 shipping. 1 in stock. Almost pulled the trigger on it myself, but I have an e10 and don't need the portability. Decided i should save up for better amp and DAC if i want to upgrade.
