I agree.  I voted for the HE-500

AKG 240s $59 from shoreline on closeout.  This is only a few bucks cheaper than Amazon third party, but a reputable seller.

holy ****, Fostex HP-A3 for $309 aswell.
Those AKG's are very good with a Asus Xonar DG for gaming, or Asus Xonar Essence ST + THS4032 opamps, for some serious value.
And they also suit the VAMP well.

On another Massdrop related note, M-Stage Amp is back up. Apparently they had to increase the price because of costs on Matrix's end but at $185 it still the best price anywhere by $50-$60.

I just got a pair of DT990 250s from "proaudiostar" on ebay. They were listed as "manufacturer resealed". I don't know what that means but they look brand new to me. He had them listed at $175. I made an offer for $160 and he took it. I think thats a great deal. He does have one other pair listed.

Bright, I had to eq the highs down a hair.

They with out a doubt seem to have the bass that I was looking for. Sound stage is about what I'm used to with the HD598. Mids are better than I was expecting.

Thats just my impressions out of the box.

They also have the DT990/32's for $225 which is almost $100 cheaper than most other places have them.

I've used them before and had zero issues and received my headphones very fast

How do you like it?? All the features look exactly like what I want but the $499 was a bit to much but for $309 new I may want to jump on this. Being an owner would you say they are worth it?? Did you have other AMP's to compare it with?

Better than the DT990/32 Premiums... More bottom end and they respond better to being amp'd than the 32's. Plus the Pro's are very very comfy as well. Two pillows with thumping bass strapped to your head.

Fun can... Still mad at my self for selling them last year...
