Would anyone here recommend me getting the modification done on the SP ATH m50s.. getting me the same ath m50s with a detachable cable and threaded locking connector ?

Either for better usage, sound or more long lasting/repairable headphones??

I actually saw the cable mod a little bit after I ordered  and tried to change my coiled pair to the mod but they said too late. I think detachable cables can give HP's more versatility because you can use various lengths. My coiled cables are too heavy for my portable players and small amps. I would love to be able to change it around.

Never bought from them so I dont know how reliable Tanga is. Good reviews from innerfedility.

I'm kinda interested in these because of Tyll's review, but the beats wannabe look turns me off big time.
They look like some cheap beats knock-offs from china.

I might still buy it since it's $100 everywhere else.

True it looks like a beats knockoff, but to be honest the only good thing about Beats was the looks. As much as we disregard beats for it's crappy SQ and ridiculous pricing, it does bring aesthetics to audio, and looks pretty modern.  Then again, I am in my 20s and someone older might have a different take on aesthetics.

I saw that they used to be $50, but I am really really thinking about pulling the trigger.  I am looking for something similar to the D2k with more portability for around $50-100.  I had the CAL! but did not like how it resembled the Klipsch Image One so much (but with better highs imo).  I was thinking of getting the Pro DJ100 or the ATH-m50, but then I stumbled across this, so I am not sure.

I buy from tanga a lot. They are legitimate. And if I had the money, those headphones would be mine.

Just ordered one! Waiting for this deal since CNet reviewed it. I've ordered from Tanga before.
