I've never experienced a restocking fee from Amazon if returned with the first 30 days. Maybe Amazon Warehouse is different. In fact, I've never been charged shipping; they only deduct shipping for the return label. Very gracious return policy...as long as purchased from Amazon itself! I was talking about the HFI-2400s from DJDeals.com, not the Beyers lol.  Guess I should'nt have quoted that part to avoid confusion.

agree most of them would be crap, but then, we get great deals also....few days back Amazon had HD650 for $300+….found in dealsofamercia and posed here...deal expired in few hrs...some of the head-fi'ers may have benefited….

The Camelizer price tracker information does not tend to support that conclusion.

I see that it doesn't. About three weeks ago, Amazon list prices on the Premium line increased overnight. The DT 880 and 990 prices seemed to stabilize at $329, $349, and $379, depending on the impedance. They've been close to steady since. I'm not convinced my interpretation is incorrect, but I believe it's too early to tell based on the timeframe. I'd like to be wrong.

Thanks for the pointer on Camelizer.

I am really tempted to return my Uptowns and buy those T 70s.

Must...save...for 009s...

I wonder how many other hobbies do people end up buying the "endgame" equipment. Seems like in this hobby it's fairly common for people that have been around long enough to reach that point

.  That and hoarding...lol.

Unless you're going for out of production gear, the holy grail seems to be $5000 for a SR-009 and another $5000 for a Blue Hawaii, WES, or other custom electrostatic amp. Add in a flagship dac and you're looking at $12K to $15K or so. A totl dynamic rig is around half that.

That's a lot of money, but still much cheaper than some people's wine or watch addictions.

I'm selling my totl dynamic rig for an 009 + LL. It's not for everyone, but after hearing it myself I have to have one.

Don't forget the LL, by the way...and a fully decked out BHSE is 6k (the one with the nice volume pot).

Or cars...or speakers for that matter.

Beyerdynamic T1's are 740.00 USD right now on Amazon (USED-LIKE NEW). I am to wanting to get the T70's for sub 300 usd also but I am impatiently waiting for the T70p's to drop to that price so I can nab them. Would be a great at 300 or below.

Funny how the T70 suddenly appears on everyone's radar once it's under $300. It never really got too much attention around here, otherwise...

I'm thinking about picking up a pair for myself. Always wanted to try them, but have been cautious of the many reviews claiming them being "bass light" is an understatement.

LOL, ya. But hey value is value. I have tried the T70p's and loved them. Yet, I am far from being a basshead. The sound stage I thought was excellent. Which is the most important for my listening. Any other sub-450 usd closed headphones you want to suggest that have an awesome soundstage? Nothing worse then listening to the vocals like they are behind you.

Perhaps not so much if they sound a great deal like the open DT 880, as some who have heard both have reported.
