Is it true that the Creative Aurvana Live is a rebranded D1100? I understand that the D2000 is very similar in character to the 5000 and 7000. Would the D1100 also fall into this family sound, or does it sound more like a budget headphone?

The CALs (Creative Aurvana Live) have the same diaphragm (Fisher or Foster?) as the Denon AH-D1001.
The cups look alike but are not the same.
I believe the AH-D1100 is more bassy then the AH-D1001.

This is correct.  The D1100s are bass monsters, while the D1001s are just pretty warm and bassy.

I believe the D series (for sure the 2K, 5K and 7K) are manufactured for Denon by Fostex.

yeah i just  called them and asked for pricing for the D2000. guy said their price is 250 but they can do 215 shipped.
