SONY IER-Z1R

Hey guys, I'm looking for a 3.5 male to 4.4 female adapter. Bought the FiiO LL-4.4M thinking that it should be OK, since FiiO makes some decent products, but it wasn't. The 4.4 female is so tight that I need to put some extra rubber on the shinny ALO 4.4 connector just to get a strong enough grip to yank it out of there. Read a review afterwards from a guy who apparently destroyed a FiiO cable using this FiiO adapter, so yeah, not gonna waste more time on it. This one is going back.

So does anyone have some suggestions for an alternative? aliexpress has a bunch of options, but I've shopped enough over there to know that reviews mean nothing and you never know what you're gonna get.

Appreciate the help! Thanks!
I own and really like this one

I have the same as @Mimouille . To me it feels like a quality part and works great so far.

edit: those are ofcourse a bit more expensive than the fiio ones.
I also had to pay additional import tax when it arrived, because you are not paying tax in Japan they write down the actual value on the packaging.

And where did you get it from? Looking at available retailers on the website, it's only JP and other far East countries.

Yes you would have to buy from Japan, possibly via a forwarding service, like I did when I bought my Musashino Lab adaptor nearly 3 years ago (the only one avaiabke at that time).

But how did you actually buy it? I looked everywhere on the website and there is no direct purchase option. Did you use Amazon.jp or something similar?

Edit: looked on Amazon.jp and saw that these are ~ 150 euro... way more than I'm willing to pay for the convenience of quickly swapping between SE and Bal sources.

Thanks anyway for the suggestion!

I wanted to share something with you guys.

I've been really sick for the past 2 weeks. Nothing truly serious, just a very bad cold. But I couldn't use headphones, especially IEMs during this time. I miss it a lot, so enjoy every minute and don't take it for granted.

Kobe died yesterday. That dude seemed invincible and now he is no more. Not sure where I'm going with this, I guess what I'm trying to say is: Be happy! :)

I have the fiio cable, yeah it clicks tight, must use a bit of force to remove. But prefer that, than switching the cable via MMCX

That is the main reason I keep both Z1R as there are times when I can’t use in ear, otherwise I would stick with the IER

Z1R + 1Z is totally another league when compared with the 1A. Much clearer bass and sweet highs.

I had to swap all dance music out of 1Z into 1A.

Tested Z1R balanced to 3.5 on NW-HD1... man that little thing has power! I saw some one mentioning Atrac but it’s loaded with MP3 320K.

So I guess you prefer dirty bass and salty highs? :)

That was me as according to Sonys own manual for it, it only supports Atrac3 and Atrac3plus
