Interesting...the Sony Hybrid EP-EX10A is what that looks like. And Sony basically emulated both that in clear with the IER-Z1R and the Triple Comfort Tips in light grey? Though the original Hybrids were suppose to be two materials shown by the two colors, with the inside color showing size. Does that tip have a colored core?
These are the tips I’m talking about (top, second compartment from the left), with the green/yellow cores. I just compared them a few days ago (picked up a Z1R locally for someone).
@Damz87 I think we’re talking about the same tips? Not sure what’s with the discrepancy though - maybe I got some stubby tips

Had been reading the rave reviews here and got myself poisoned when I auditioned this baby at Stereo a couple of weeks ago. I finally made the purchase at V3 today. No regrets. Music has never been so revealing and magical to me before. Thanks guys for sharing.

I will soon in a few days do a new sound experiment. I will receive a tia trio iem and will intensely compare it with ier-z1r. Using my wm1z and final type e ear tips.
I am so impatient to hear the results!
I also ordered double flange spinfits in small size, to do further tests to bring more isolation and see how spinfit silicone work the sound signature.
So far final type e are the best sounding ear tips in hybrid mode diy with comply foam...
Its more musical and treble is smoother and more gentle. Bass also is more pleasant. Overall they do an amazing synergy to the sound and very lively lovely

Yeah, finals are known to reduce (or smoothen if you will) treble a bit (narrow bore), but it's funny to me that you mess with the foam filter to bring up the treble and then use a treble reducing tip leading you to proclaim it to be the best sounding tip. Like using two opposite EQs in series.

Well to be honest I have put back the sony original foam. Shhhhhhht dont tell it to no one hahahaha
The thing is.
The oem foam bring treble down and make sound thicker.
While no foam yes it improves clarity and can hear more details at a cost of elevated treble and thiner sound ....
That is my findings.
So original foam + type e with comply foam hybrid is my preferred sound!
Sony tips bring the z1r deeper and closer in, that make them too bright so type e are longer, it again plays a good way for me that way.
