Pro tip: Before a listening session with cold tubes, place tubes in the microwave for 5 minutes. Take them out and immediately place them in your amp and power-on. Be sure to use oven mitts. **

** I'm kidding. DO NOT TRY THIS!!!
I think its better to put them in the oven to have a more linear warm up!

You are all cool; I let the tubs warm up for 30-60 minutes...but still, at around the second hour of listening, I have the impression that it's only then reached full potential...sound becomes mind-blowing, opened and rich and detailed...but unfortunately it's always at the end of my listening sessions :)

Yes the tubes are always at their full potential after 2-3 hours but I hear SS amps also could benefit from a little warm up?

Unless you have a butler who turns on your gear while your chauffer takes you home from the Stock Exchange in whichever Rolls Royce or Bentley is appropriate for that day of the week, just turn on the gear and start listening

I turn my gear on when I want to listen and I turn it off when I'm sure I'm done. Sometimes it stays on all day late into the night, sometimes it's on for a few hours. I have no butler, and I'm hoofing it most of the time :D

That's fine....

Pro Tip 2: If using a conventional stove, preheat to 175 degrees and then place tubes in for 10 minutes, flip them over and leave them in for another 5 minutes. When tubes are nice and toasty, follow the same instructions for removal and installation as stated in previous 'Pro Tip'.

** Again -- DO NOT TRY THIS!!

I keep reminding you guys that @bcowen doesn't need oven mits. He's like that baker who takes cookie racks right out of the oven with his bare hands. He can hot-swap tubes in the true sense of the word :p

Hey Bro! It's been awhile, and it's great to hear from you. This rig is definitely keeping me up very late and up very early as well, just to get as much listening time as possible. I definitely rush home from work, and the first thing I do when I get home is fire up that amp.

You gonna be making it to CanJam Dallas by chance? I will be there both days, and would love to meet in person. I am super excited and will most likely be camped out wherever ZMF is going to be.
Yes!! I didn't see the Dallas CanJam notice until you posted. I'm pretty sure I can be there. I'll ping you via DM after I check my calendar.
