@listen4joy asked that I put together a list of my top IEM's so I'll try to rank my favorites. It is tough to rank some in a particular order especially when they have different sound signatures and work well with different sources/genres. My top 5 can be interchangeable in order depending on what type of sound I am looking for. I currently own all of these IEMs and they are all Universal fit
1: Empire Ears Zeus XR Adel- This IEM does no wrong. Great for everything
2. Campfire Audio Vega- Some might not prefer the sound signature, but the Vega really brings you into the music
3. JHAudio Layla II- The width of the soundstage and separation of instruments are incredible. The fit could be better and tip rolling is needed
4. InEar Prophile 8- Best fitting IEM with a reference sound signature with very wide detail. The soundstage is similar to Layla.
5. Jomo Audio/Effect Audio Genesis- Great separation of instruments with incredible detail. Not the best for vocal heavy tracks.
6. Rhapsodio Galaxy- Unique sound signature with controlled bass and detailed vocals. I have found it can be power hungry though
7. Oriolus MK2 and Kumitate Lab Trio- Hybrid IEMs that are perfect for any genre. Both IEMs have no real negatives.
8. Westone w80- I have owned these for a few months now, and I still can't get over how small these are. The most portable IEM I own, and I love the airy but detailed sound. These might not be for everyone though especially if you like a more in your face type of sound.
9a UM Maestro v2/ Noble Katana- 12 BA vs 9 BA. It is tough to choose between these two as they can sound similar in a few different ways. I feel like the Maestro is a bit more up front in terms of presentation where the Katana is a bit more laid back. Can't go wrong with either just up to personal preference.
9b. EarSonics S-EM9- These can handle any genre. The speed is incredible, and you can really get lost when listening to these
10. FitEar ToGo 334- Mids and vocals.
11. Campfire Audio Andromeda- More analytical than the Vega with clean and controller bass and mids. You really cant go wrong with these but the fit might not be the best for some. I keep going back and forth between tips too.
I also really love the IBasso iT03 and Vibro Labs Maya at that mid range price level.
I did not consider the JHAudio 16V2pro because I need more timing listening to give a fair rating. I also left off the Shure KSE1500 because I don't consider them an Portable IEM really. They are technically IEMs, but I just don't listen to them as much because of lack of portability.
There are a few others that I own that did make these rankings, but that was more because I didn't want to make a 30+ IEM list.
