Hmm if you can try them out you definitely should before purchasing. I actually feel that the bass is a tad bit too powerful and bleeds a little into the other spectrums on some songs. But on certain electronic/dance songs where the 'beat' is the main attraction, the Super darts really shine.

Atomic Floyd themselves describe the sound signature as a pronounced V shape. I can tell you this at least is true

I traded for a pair of hifiman re400 's and they might not be as good as some I have like the w4r the 535 the heir 4ai's and so on.. But for a 100 dollar iem all I got to say is wow.. If I had of bought them when I first started this hobby I would probably have not needed to upgrade.. Ok well that's a lie lol but wow are they ever good..

I really want to try the re272's. I have the 100 dollar re400 and for 100 bucks I can't believe my ears. They could easily sell them for three times that and I'd pay that. If they put and better cable and had it detachable id deffently pay that. Remarkable iem.

Are the brainwavzs really that good? I have to try all these cheaper iems.. Like them.. I think they are cheaper anyways.. Like u said I have the re400 and they are like 100 dollars and I also have like the w4r and the 535 and so on and to be honest I am having a great time with the re400 and the more expensive ones are just collecting dust rite now lol dollar for dollar you just can't beat them.. :-D

Well by everything else I mean everything else listed in my profile, which is on the lower end of things because I'm not too much of an IEM fan because my ear canals are shaped weird and IEMs get annoying after a couple of hours. I'd say the S1 performs quite well for its price, but it's silly to compare it to anything above $100. I've yet to try the RE400, but I'd certainly be interested in trying it. 
 
After using the K3003 and SE846 for a good period of time, I understand the appeal in ultra-high end IEMs; they're fantastic in their own right, but for travelling, I can't justify spending so much money on them because I just don't listen as intently when I'm not in my home station. I think I listen more for sound signature than detail in a portable setup. My wallet is relieved. I think the DN1000 plus something more mid-heavy but light sounding/analytical (not something like the SE535, but something with a more n shaped sound signature) will be my end game IEM combo.

pacman46, I haven't tried the RE400, though I hear it sounds much like the RE272 which I own, only with slightly more bass, which it needs. The 272's are velvety smooth and are free of any noticeable frequency peaks or valleys, at least as far as I can tell. In my opinion, they are great for gentle styles of music such as jazz or classical, but lack the bass and treble sparkle to work well with rock or electronic music. They are a great compliment to my DN1000's. Hifiman definitely makes a nice product for the money. Hope you enjoy the RE400's.
