When are you doing your X5 2nd Gen Review?

I need to start writing...I got it at the beginning of last week. So far so good. It's the X5, and the X5 is a high bar to set. It's beats out its predecessor in a few small ways.

Oh alright...I'll spill the beans. To my ears the Pono is more engaging and alive.

The only thing I can attribute this to is the architecture, but I am not very technical when it comes to the inner workings of DAPs, so I could be horribly wrong.

I tested both with the Sennheiser HD650 (was pretty obvious quickly that the Pono can handle even difficult to drive stuff easily), MS1 woodied, the TPeos Altone 200 and the VE Zen.

I've been experimenting with 550 paracord as a headband alternative. Surprisingly comfortable and the design possibilities could be very cool.

Whoa, are those over-ears? If so, how'd you get them installed?

It's machined 6061 aluminum for the clamping blocks and aluminum flat sock for the headband.

My first Grado mod. These are SR80e's with Vibro Labs xClaro cups, turbulent Labs Onyx Manta headband and Amplifier_Surgery re-cable. They sound great!
