Got Grado 225's a few month back and after seeing all the fun you guys where having with yours. I got the "itch" to start the modding... and I was able to get these stunning cups from Martin about two weeks ago... I'm in love...

I feel like its a big improvement. The sound bouncing off the wood made them much deeper and open. I also put the G cushions on and that helped a lot will fatigue and made the sound stage feel much larger and real.

Thanks Elmoe, I feel pretty lucky to have received such an amazing set of cups from Martin. I was blown away at the build quality. I'm still looking to get a head band... not sure if I want to DIY one..

Removed the sr60i drivers and put some magnum v5. Replaced the belt headband with a vintage grado leather one (before they started using the cheap plastic ones used now)

How do you think the V.5's compare to the sr60i's?

Definitely has a better low end. Highs extend far but aren't as harsh as the grado can be Sometimes.

Overall it's a more complete driver
