If you see my previous post - those pads on the T20 are from online. Just search and you can find heaps of new ones.

The competition between the dynamic Fostex TH7 and the ortho Fostex T10 is also intense because the frequency response of the T10 is 20 to 25,000 Hz and the frequency response of the TH7 is 20 to 35,000Hz... The Th7 damped is very, very good, better than what any review revealed about it because it is not modified and damped but right out of the box exemplar to review...The T10 has a better timbre tonality but is limited with this frequency response compared to the TH7... But modifying the T10 improve it greatly but cannot change it completely for sure...The duel between the 2 in my heart is there...it complement each other well I must say...
I realize that the possibility to change the imaging and soundstage for a greater coherent one for the T10 is possible... But it will be impossible to change completely the frequency response then The Fostex TH7 will be always a contender against the T10...
If I can bought another Fostex ortho probably the rare T50 the problem will perhaps be solved...It is my conclusion...I will wait the damping materials and perhaps the improvement will decide at this time...
Where will I find a rare Fostex T50 ? Or a t20? I dont know what to think now
At least 3 very informed specialist of these fostex orthos testify for the sound value of the T10 (armaegis, Tyre, and gurubhai)...It seems that between the T10 and the others it is futile for me to dream of a great improvement, the T10 seems one of the best already...I will try other mods to improve it and listening now I am more and more loving it...

T10 was entry level, I'm sure you'll find some ppl claiming that YH3 is better than YH1, that doesn't make it true especially with such old phones that often age badly due to corrosion and what-not.
I have bought a bunch of retro cans since being on this journey into orthos, and each can have their own benefit, like cans that don't suit music but are great for movies (bass heavy) - but I have a piezoelectric set of headphones that have hardly any bass in them, and the highs are not great either, but oh my when I heard a vocal track in them and the reality of it was just insane - better gravel to the voice in subtle ways that even orthos did not beat. Like a magic point of vocal frequency that highlighted a mid of vocal reality that was amazing. So having a few to experience these amazing things at times is always a joy

I understand your point but me I dream about one contender good for all points but not necessarily a marvel absolute in each one separately...

I think you will have a hard time finding any pad that sounds better than the original stock pads.
Anything more comfortable will probably increase the distance of the headphone to your ears - every time I've tried that, the sound was negatively affected.
If there is something out there that really makes the T10 more comfortable and even improves the sound, I would also like to know about it.

I will go on with the original pad and begin to be accustomed to them.... I love the T10 but for the moment the humble TH-7 modified is better for the coherency of the soundstage and for clarity ...I must wait for my 2 damping methods to be implemented before judgment because they must enhance the clarity and imaging of the T10... But I think that the 10,000 Hz of difference of frequency response, that cannot be directly heared or listened to, but indirectly in the treatment of harmonics yes, made in part for the superiority of the dynamic TH7 … We will see... The T10 is a gem tough...
Thanks greq for your post that photos speak like an encyclopedia
One thing is sure I was not prepared 7 years ago to have the revelation that one of the most humble headphone in the market will trump all the others more priciest one I will try (6 in all) in my elusive quest for a good headphone on all counts, only good, not even the best on all counts...For the moment the TH-7 modified has the head...Even if I love the T10...
People here, most of them, and I am like them, I dont except myself, are not prepared nor wanted to admit that the best is not synonymus with the costliest sometimes, or that the best is the cheapest sometimes...

I wish! That's quite a modest selection compared to some other 'great historical modders' around these parts. Thanks greq for your post that photos speak like an encyclopedia
If you like the T10, you might also like the Trio KH83, as they have the same driver as the T10.
It's a bit harder to find than the T10, but they're more 'open back' and I think it sounds a bit better. (I own both).
Personally I think there are better headphones out there than either of them, but I believe that sometimes a single headphone just somehow resonates with someone or even their ear physiology better than others, so this might be something to consider for your 'audio journey'.

It is evident that there is far better headphones than the TH-7 or T10... My point is that for their price they are more than good... And we must pay great amount to crush them... I will repeat that I prefer The TH-7 to 2 stax models I had (basic lambda one and SR-5 gold) for example, it is not the 007 nor the 009 tough
My goal is one headphone at relatively low cost, not the best there is because of the high price, but good and only good on all counts, mainly imaging, and rendering of the voice or instrumental timbre naturalness with a speaker-like (3-d) soundstage... The TH-7 modified is close, with it I enjoy music with headphones... Buying the T10 was a bet on the reviews here and at others forums... They were right it is a good can for the low price better than most that cost 2 or 3 times more...I must finish to mods it in the weeks to come...

After 24 hours without listening to them...I go on with them this evening and I am more astounded than ever...I added some little pack of brazil agate to the terminal jack of the T10 cable, wrapped it around it, and the imaging and soundstage were better than in my memory of 24 hours ago....I am already fan of this T10....
Anyone is again and more than ever in love with this low cost small gem?
I really wait to damp them rightfully, with some sorb. and Fo.Q tape...
By the way I learned to deal with them confortwise, put off your glasses and adjust them very well and it is possible to have some tolerable compromise in unconfort ...

Anyway, what specifically are those pads for that are on your T20mk1? They look nothing like the old T20 pads.
