He has the Yamaha YH-1's.... still don't know what the rest are.

EDIT: Possibly...

Another guy I spoke to has a ton of other vintage headphone for sale, so I will see what has has as well. So to clarify, I've been talking to two people, both have a lot of vintage headphones, but one has confirmed ortho's for sale.

To be perfectly clear, only T20v1 comes with that pesky "aluminium solder only" bs sticker huh? http://www.head-fi.org/t/566096/fostex-t20v1-needs-repair

T20v2 is safe apparently? http://www.head-fi.org/t/621026/eu-fostex-t20v2-orthos-with-stax-o2-pads

My T10 doesn't have the sticker, unlike the one on wiki: http://wiki.faust3d.com/wiki/index.php?title=Image:T107xk8a.jpg

This one more than likely didn't either: http://wiki.faust3d.com/wiki/index.php?title=Image:T107xk8a.jpg

This T10 was indeed recabled: http://www.head-fi.org/t/575596/fs-vintage-orthos-fostex-t10-t20v1-t20v2-yamaha-yhd1-yh100

And this T40v1 was transplanted: http://www.head-fi.org/t/554183/ortho-transplant-fostex-t40v1-driver-into-phiaton-ps-500-many-pics

So T20v2 and T40v1 can be soldered with regular solder? Possiby T10's w/o the bs sticker too? I use quad eutectic Cardas

My t10 does have the 'aluminium solder only' sticker, and does seem to have the original cable.
I assumed this was some sort of standard for all early fostexes, but OEM stuff does not have it including Nad RP18 and the Grundig T20 variant.

No idea what happened.
Just bought a headphone with a faulty driver.
I had a poke around. But it seems to be dead.

T10 and t20 have the same diameter, but different magnets and sound.
From what I can tell they seem to have the identical diaphragms though.

I've been considering offering one of my T30's, the one i haven't modified, in trade for another headphone of similar value.

Did you open the driver? is it easy to put it back?

Yeah, super easy.
After unscrewing the plastic clamp, the magnets repel eachother, so you need to be careful not allowing the to separate too quickly, otherwise the top one might jump up and back down with its edge on the diaphragm.
Both magnets and diaphragm are totally loose. (Regarding t10 drivers)

Not sure about T20 drivers, but my Grundig with the T20v2 driver, the magnets seems to be glued in with some soft rubber type glue, which is really annoying as both sides have different hole alignments -_- and I can't easily realign them.

on my t20v1, the magnets are just held in by the ring that holds the driver to the baffle. Take out the screws and everything is loose.

I thought Grundig was PMB drivers with three clamps to hold two magnets?

I have PMB drivers are have opened them several times. Hole alignment is quiet important it drastically changes the sound. I match them looking at light source.
If you match them perfectly , clarity imaging and soundstage change quiet drastically.
