Thanks a lot for your reply, as I read some messages in this thread, that the players were not supporting OTG audio on the previous firmaware. Great they've fixed it!

So, I bought a Bispa balanced cable, my IEMs are Shure SE535 ltd-jp, with the balanced out the Rubato is really shining, especially with DSD files! Sounds like a different upper class player!
I have a 512Gb and 400Gb cards, both working flawlessly! I'm enjoying this little gem!!
A also bought a Musahiro label case which is really nice and high-quality, but rather expensive to my mind... Still, I like it, too.

Can you provide the case link? looks very nice.

Regards!

Hi Onkyo,
I am a new user of Onkyo DP-S1. The latest firmware does not allow Tidal in the Online menu. Please bring Tidal back to DP-S1. I wish I can stream Tidal because I don't interest in Deezer. TuneIn seems to be fine (I can stream radio). Thanks.

If the DP-S1 is a Japanese sourced model, Tidal was never available on it. (search this thread for discussion about it). That also goes for the Pioneer version.

I could not find the brown one now, here is the black case:

It is nice, but a bit overpriced I think.
Here is a cheaper version - dark blue leather:

I liked the "official" case, but again, paying $50 for a piece of plastic - that's weird :)

My DP-S1 is acting up, as in the lowest part of the touch screen becomes unresponsive. If I tap on the right bottom the touch registers as left bottom. Is there any fix for this, apart from a new screen?

What OTG cables do you guys use to connect to external DACs?
If I need to hook up to a full-size desctop DAP (it has own power supply), do I need to use an OTG cable with micro B to Rubato, than connect another USB cable (2.0 A-B) to it? Will this combo work?

If you read the previous firmware update, you can find a lot information about Tidal for DP-S1 so I think previously there was Tidal available there but has been removed since the latest firmware?

Good day! Has anyone tried using a 400gb and above to their daps? Am planning to jump to a 400gb from a 256gb.

Reason is, I might change my 30r to a newer dap and usually daps nowadays only have 1 slot

I have the XDP-30R with 400GB in one slot / 256GB in the other. Absolutely no problems loading or playing

Tidal was never present on the Japanese model - Pioneer explicitly says so, explaining that as Tidal is not available in Japan, it is not part of the JP model
Why having Tidal is inlegal? Don't understand much. User has to pay for subscription anyway. DAP is just a gate way for collect money. :frowning2:
