Anyway, I have enough balanced/neutral 'phones. I want to hear this JVC timbre folks are talking about. Also the positive comparison with the K2 is intriguing.
FOTM is just what a person calls an IEM when it's justifiably gaining popularity despite the person not liking/owning it.![]()
The GR07 has been the FOTM like 3/4 of a year now. Heh.
Anyway, I'm a FOTM kinda guy.![]()
Thanks for your expertise in describing the characteristics of the fxt90 ,these really are sounding more and more like an iem that i am just going to have to hear for my self .and i thought i was done with iem's.![]()

Despite my previous early assessment of FXT90 not being quite equal to RE262, I do think it is a very good IEM for the price and still well earn a place in the top category, maybe just not in the top-of-the-top. I am a sucker for dual dynamic and FXT90 is certainly the best I have ever heard.
That's some really high praise, specially since you've heard the TWF21r DDM2.
Interesting. I've always thought of "Flavor of the Month" phones as those that are prematurely or unjustifiably popular. Where marketing hype and/or amateur sensationalism of the product's capabilities boost its popularity before any real, trusted, level-headed community consensus is built around it. This, inevitably, drops them from their initial, (unworthy) astral plane of worship to their realistic, (deservedly) earthly status.
Yep, but I also prefer the more fun sounding DDM over the more controlled DDM2,
So cute... I got in the Bluecell tips. These tips have the widest diameter of any tip I own that will fit the super wide nozzle of the FXT90. And I've found that wide is good, but widest isn't. These tips significantly cuts the beautiful deep layered bass in the FXt90. What it does do very good, however, is bring those horns really out and gives the FXT90 it's best highs. But where's the bass? It also gives the JVC the widest soundstage. With that said, I need my bass!! I will try these with the 7550 and GR07 later, but right now the Monster foam hybrids have pulled out ahead (again) as favorite tip for the FXT90, followed by the JAYS (if was easier to get them on) and the dark blue Panny silicons. I also like the Sony large hybrid with foam. Back to the Monsters.
