My campus is full of idiots walking around with beats. I see someone, somewhere, once per day with a pair. Aside from those, I've seen some indistinct pairs here and there, but it's possible that few people wear them outside. I don't wear mine outside (mine are open, after all) but I recently talked to a guy who owns HD-558s! We then discussed Sennheiser for awhile.

Either way, that's still highly dangerous both to the driver and other road users. Imagine rocking out to some greatawesome tunes from your headphones then your car rocked too, having ran over someone.

They do make special devices that visually alert deaf drivers to sirens. Idiots driving with headphones on, do not have either the practice dealing with processing visual only data, or the benefit of such devices.
