Well yes, I suppose the XBass on iFi units is quite relevant to this thread Though designed to compensate for bass rolloff on regular open back full size headphones, it can be quite the basshead's tool when used on something else
Almost as good as MSEB? MSEB can make most sets tolerable for bassheads. the only pair it failed on for me was the mrspeakers ether cx, which just was clearly limited by driver excursion limits.

Sorry, couldn't resist putting you on the spot since I've dealt with you since the R6 IGG stuff!
I'm a DAP guy, so no experience with ifi but I hear good things.... Don't really foresee myself making a venture out of DAP world any time soon.... Unless someone can really convince me otherwise.
Thanks, it's fair to say that some individuals on this forum like our products for various reasons
Once (and if) you transition from a DAP to a smartphone plus a DAC/amp combo, we'll be around

I do like amps... I just don't want to use my phone and can't use my work laptop due to security restrictions. You've got a good one with Joe. He cares about the customers and the sound.... A lot more than one of his previous sponsors....
Good to know iFi has bass heads like me covered if DAPs die off.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a bass head IEM, specifically focused on the sub bass? I have a lot of bassy IEMs with good sub bass, but I haven’t found one with very loud/prominent sub bass rumble. It may be the limitations due to physics, but I have yet to truly have “subwoofers in my ears”, with that eerie sense of pressurization w/o actual tactile sensations. I do get a lot better sub bass from IEMs than most HPs though. It’s easy to get really potent mid bass slam also.
It’s not really just focused on the sub bass, b/c the mid bass hits insanely hard, but I found my bass head IEM! I received my UrbanFun YBF today, and WOW! I have never had an IEM that hits and rumbles this hard. It‘s definitely like having a subwoofer in my ears, or like sitting right next to a couple of huge, well ported 15 inchers. It definitely pressurizes my ears. I sure hope it doesn’t settle down much over time.
This thread needs revived. Looks like I need to spend some money on this never ending basshead quest..... The IMR Rah is great, but isolation is terrible. The uf ybf isso14 is good, but not good enough. The bq3 is fun, but there are new shiny objects.
I have the TFZ No3, FIIO FH7 & FH5. To me they are all 'bassy' but not what I think of as 'basshead'. Of the three the FH7 is my preferred, more of an audio 'complete package'. With EQ I can get the bass to thump pretty good.
Hey all. New member here. I've been scrolling through this forum thread trying to find an ideal pair of bass-oriented IEM's and have been, so far, lost. There have been lots and lots of different suggestions and opposing viewpoints on here, and wanted to get some specific outlook. My only requirement is MAX $200 (ideally under). I've also compiled a list of buds that I've looked at and listed them below. Hardware is a Topping D10 and a Liquid Spark for at-home use and planning on a BTR5 for mobile use.
