Yes...

I currently have the XB90EX and the EX800ST (taped mod) and enjoy them via my LG V10.
I'm considering the 2.5, A3 or Fender...will have to wait and see what's next.
I'm sort of a Sony "fanboy" so I might be looking at the A3 first.
That will be some what a waste. Go for a 2.5.

all around same level. You can go opposite direction.

Thanks for the reply. I used to own the A3, how do you think that compares? I have the itch to buy the A3 again. Reason is that my Z5 is attached to my DAC/AMP permanently and I don't want to carry that around for portable so thinking of using the A3 for portable.

Looking for comparisons in the Bass quality, quantity, and overall detail (mids and treble transparency/layering). A3 vs. EX800ST / ASG 2.5 / XB90

Appreciate the help in advance!

I also had the A3,A2,H3,Z5. 2.5 massive bass, hits a lot harder, can be a bass monster while still able to play non bass tracks very well.

Thanks for your input on this.

I would like to know how the EX800ST (taped) compare to the 2.5?

I find the EX800ST to be a very good "all around" headphone with nice low end (taped) and smooth mid to high range...a bit cut off, but helps with fatigue.

I'm still all new to this, so bear with me...

Whats a good amount of earbuds to have, I believe all together I have about 11, and what is a healthy amount of headphones to have, I just wanted one earbud for each player and laptop, tablet and phone I have and a few extras to switch around.

The 2.5 is very good but I have not demoed the 800.

Thanks for the reply...maybe either vanman or HBB can shed some light on the subject?

The 800 taped and poked with a pin once is my top IEM and in terms of sheer power the 500mW input and 16mm diaphragm cannot be beat IMO

The Mojo has 2 headphone outs which is awesome for doing compares at the same time.

The track above allows me to focus on bass and crank it up and the Mojo will go to about 680mW into a 16ohm resistance.
The 800 will take more than double the input of average IEM  <<<<very critical point

I came into this thread like the headphone one in search of bass first and then quality. The ex800st gives me both. It will not play bass that is not there as the driver is audiophile tuned up to 3khz before it falls off.  Cable sucks, changed it...gonna custom build another. 3 cables for 2   ex800st.

The 800 are studio tuned so you are fighting their intended purpose. Takes a vent mod some eq and a good deal of power.

If I put the 2.5 in one ear and the 800st in the other the 800 slams my ear and the 2.5 blows air on my eardrum which s amazing but head to head on an identical bass track at the same time the 800 is boss.

Sony has no idea who I am.
I got no dogs in this fight. I use the 800st everyday and would sell my 2.5 but i love them in another way

Listen to that track all of it as load as you can listen and then compare to everything you own.

I will do a video as it seems many will not agree.
It's all about the driver and the max input. If you push them both great things happen. If your not a chronic like me the 2.5 will take you there pretty much with the blow dryer effect and less amp required....but it will cost you

Hi, I received the Alpha & Delta yesterday, while I do like the bass and sound, the right earphone is not as loud as the left one. I'll be returning them and not sure if I should try something that's not using detachable cables
