The CFA Trifecta's bass impresses, a lot.
Alpha & Omega - Omega, you might find em at a good price around too.
Both super impressive in their own way.

getting back into this hobby. i've had mest mkiis, legend x, legend evo, ierz1r, ie900s and scarlet minis.
ierz1r was my favorite overall, worst fit though so my second favorite was legend x.
just picked up the scarlets based on them having "more bass" than the legend x. and to me the legend x's had way harder bass.

I bought the ierz1rs twice, same with legend x. iers because they sounded so good to me, legend x because that was enough bass to satiate my hunger

I am now considering the xe6, but if there's something cheaper/better for basshead iem, I'm hoping someone here can enlighten me.

I'd like whatever a ierz1r for soundstage/mids/highs with the legend X bass combo would be
XE6 is basshead, but it won't be anywhere in quality of the raised shelf bass (because the shelf goes to far into the mids; too warm).

It is its own quirky thing, that may won't hold after the honeymoon phase.

Nightjar Singularity is a more recent option nowadays. Basshead buy not as quirky.

man I remembered looking at the trifecta in the past, I only remembered the box not the name. That's the other iem I was heavily considering. Just so expensive.

so between the xe6 or trifecta -- which one would give the hardest deepest hit but also enough resolution/staging to hear the rest of the song.

When I was younger, my car had 4 rockford fosgate 6x9's and a 10" subwoofer. I want that kind of sound in my iems

the scarlet minis feel like one of those cheap bazooka tube woofers with stock speakers.

XE6 and Trifecta are both really too euphoric sounding.

Neither will have the rounded hit of the Sennheiser ie900 you had in the past. They'll be an extreme analog sound but to be taken in an unclear way.

Though I guess thay may be relevant to the car audio nostalgia you mentioned.

fwiw I really like the ie900s for steely dan and stuff like that. but they just dont have enough slam, no matter the eq

I still have the ie900s, listed in classifieds right now, maybe too analytical for me? I don't feel the same emotion I got out of my legend x's/ier's so maybe im more on that analog side

also thanks for the replies, kinda leaning toward trifectas now

Idk, Trifecta is the only iem as a basshead, I truly havent been able to sell. Put some final e tips to it, the 8k peaks get controlled, the bass is boosted. win/win. Specially for edm its one of the most delicious things Ive ever heard. While it not be the last coke on the dessert in terms of resoltiom, it doesnt really need to. You know how a lot of people say sets have a lot of resolution, specially in regards to the high end—Trifecta, presents to me sounds in the low end I didn't think existed. Its musical, dynamic, with lots of energy, an eeeeeeexcellent soundstage. Big ,spacious, spherical, and quite very unique to other sets Ive heard. Its filled with bass. oh and did I mention how good its bass is? You get the point. xD Any music with synths or low mid emphasis will make the set shine. It just works really really well with my library, which consists of atmospheric electronica (midland, tretenmoller) to dubstep, deep tech house, drum and bass, hip hop, and pop. I guess ymmv depending on what your library consists of. If it seems close to mine, you wont be disappointed!

I think we share the same sentiments. thanks for the recommendation, going to get the trifecta

btw this is one of my absolute tracks as far as my taste + audio quality/mastering (its x rated though) -- hopefully you'll like it on your trifectas

It looks like we have similar tastes. If you have a way to demo the Annihilator 2023, I’d highly recommend it. Kind of a weird recommendation for a bass head IEM (because it’s not). The over all sound signature is just about perfect for me. Some report insufficient bass, but with adequate power and, most importantly, correct tips, the bass is phenomenal. I’m convinced people who criticize the bass haven’t gotten the tips/fit correct.

Some off my other all time favs are EVO, Legend X, and UM Indigo.
