My library is sub-bass dominant and I raise eq and amp by default.

2.5> Velvet
How do you think 2.5s subbass compare to velvets with no eq? I personally dont like EQing.

The 2.5's sub-bass with no EQ and the bass port all the way open is still insane. The problem I have with it without EQ is that the sound is pretty bloated and the mids get clouded by mid-bass. You really need to pull the mid-bass region down with EQ for the sound to be excellent. If you're afraid to EQ, it might be worth waiting until some of us have heard the new Aurisonics Bravo series. Smaller drivers but they claim the bass is still incredible. We'll see.

For anyone looking for a budget IEM that has near top-tier sound and nice bass, you should take a look at my review…

Almost 18 hours (burned in) of normal listening now and I’m picking up detail I’ve never heard in my music from these cheap $20 IEMs. They’re displaying amazing characteristics for such a cheap IEM. Amazing sound-stage make these a steal despite the slightly bloated bass. They are definitely worth a try.

Just trying to get the word out there! These are amazing for the price.

Both IEM have a kind of built in eq via dial.
I don't listen to flat eq enough with the 2.5 and never did with the Velvet so . I got nothing for folks who don't use eq. That is outside of my area of specialty

I'm going to compile a list of some of the best bass test tracks over at Basshead.Club. If you have any you love using to test bass--especially sub-bass--please link me and I'll get them compiled. It'll be nice to have a spot where you can just go play a bunch of tracks on a page instead of searching through the threads. Thanks!

I thought this would be the appropriate thread to post this in for my fellow bassheads.  So I have weird ears it seems and at times can't find the right tips to fit my ears with certain iem's.  The Pioneer vibrators is such an iem.  I use the small size foam tips from Monster half of the time and the other times the medium ones depending on the iem.  Well with the Pioneer the small doesn't fit right and with the medium it keeps falling out during workouts or just walking around.  So I decided to use the Decibullz ear thingies.  Instructions states to put them in hot water.  Well that didn't work, so straight into the microwave they went.  Once soft, I was able to pull out the rubber "gasket".  Then just put the Decibullz on and molded to my ear.  I had to get it right the first time, cause there is not way to get them out once it hardens with the "gaskets" gone.  And I found out that I had to move the Decibullz a bit more so the foam ear-tips don't stick to it while warm.

Well it worked out and the vibrators don't fall out my ears anymore.  I can shake my head silly and they will stay put.  I also noticed more vibration at a lower volume since more material is making contact between the iem and my ears.  Maybe it's just me, but I feels like that.

Got some Carbo Tenores in- like someone mentioned earlier in the thread, pretty impressive bass side of things, especially considering size. Maybe not ot basshead but if someone just wants decent bass, not a bad choice for $30- curious to hear the Basso now.
