They actually look very similar considering that these are two different graphs from different people who are bound to have somewhat different methodologies and equipment for testing. Driver variances are likely another reason for the slight differences. I assume you're trying to decide on the 250 ohm vs. 600 ohm based on which one has the stronger (or weaker) bass? My advice would be to buy the one that you can most adequately power as they will probably be quite similar in bass response.

That's right. I was looking for the strongest bass.
I appreciate your help.

Hi,

The T70 is better than the T70p IMO. The "p" model has somewhat harsh treble, while the normal model has much smoother treble. They are both realy easy to drive, but I would still pick the 250Ohm model regardless.

The T70 is a lot more neutral and accurate than the DT990 is. I feel it easily bests the DT990 in all of those areas except for the soundstage. The DT990 soundstage is wider and much more spacial. Also the T70 has less bass, but it's of much higher quality.

In your view, how dt990 compares to dt t70 ot t70p in term of quality bass, sounds stage, separation, mids and trebles?

Is that DT990 Pro or DT990 Premium? 250-Ohm or 600-Ohm?

How about the DT880 verses the T70?

Can I say that T70 is an "upgrade" from DT990?
Does DT990 need an amp to drive?

Wow...sounds a bit too risky to me.

Amazon Warehouse Deals aren't risky at all. They are new headphones returned during Amazon's 30 day return period. Often times they haven't even been opened.

Edit- There may be some risk regarding the warranty but considering how easy it is to get replacement parts for Beyers and the fact that Amazon Warehouse Deals has a 30-day return policy its really not risky at all IMO.

To be fair and honest, I can only compare the DT880 to the DT990.
But I think the DT990 is a great sounding 'phone in terms of bass, soundstage & separation.
The mids are a bit recessed, bass and treble is a bit pushed up, which seems to be what you are looking for.
The DT880 is basically flatter 'phone, but the DT990 sound is balanced enough that  could easily live with it.
Frankly, I have a very real problem trying to decide between buying a pair of DT880s and DT990s, I think they are both superb!

Hi,

It's the premium 600Ohm DT990. The T70, IMO, totally stomps them.

The DT880 is a great phone but not as good as the T70. I find the T70 to be much better than the DT880 in every way. Detail, resolution, timbre, dynamics, it just beats the DT880 down. The T70 also has a more natural sound to it and sounds surreal at times. Oh and the mids are there in full force.

cyberalpha11: Yes the T70 is an upgrade from the DT990. It can not be compared really. And yes the DT990 needs an amp, even the 32Ohm version does.

Great info zombie. I've only heard the 990 pros for a short time, but the bass was very intense. How would you say the t70's compare in this respect? While I Dont consider myself a bass head, the 990's did appeal to me. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

If you liked the DT990 bass a lot then the T70 might not be for you. It has a lot less bass than the DT990.

About DT990 Premium Series, there are 3 types of impedence:

DT 990 Premium 250 Ohm ($378)
DT 990 Premium 600 Ohm ($295)
DT 990 Premium 32 Ohm ($300)

May I know which is the better one in term of quality bass, sounds stage, detail, separation, mids and trebles?
