I wouldn't punch holes in my drivers, rather, I would experiment with different sources/amps.

Well, I am expecting Fiio Olympus E10 (ordered for the curiosity/comparing with current setup) which will change my source/amp & it should be an interesting test.
I really do NOT want to punch these holes.

Has anyone tried using a dampening material like felt behind the drivers, and in front? Specifically, so it completely covers up the back of the cups. It keeps the open-air characteristics, while dampening the HF.

how long of burning, do you have to give to this drivers?

I just got mine and installed them, but they sound Anemic. MY V4 sounded WAY better than this drivers.

Am I being stupid or is it just nostalgia. I just put up a "For Trade" post.
I'm trading my full modded magnums for anyone's Grado Rs1i. I know in my head the Magnums are superior but I miss the sound or look or the rs1i.

Am I going to regret this? Or has anyone gone back to RS1i?
Or can someone who has both do some comparisons to refresh my memory?

Help!

So your drivers sounded good after the install?

Mine don't sound any where close to my V4.

It's all perception. Maybe they just aren't as good as your v4?

You could be right, I will give them a few.

Not to pick nits, but shouldn't the Moderators open a Turbulent X Driver Forum? The discussions of modding by replacing the most vital component begins to feel a bit like Lincoln's Axe or The Ship Of Theseus-all parts have been replaced many times, but the name remains the same.

That's the second person to complain about anaemic bass on their Turbulent X drivers. I wonder if there was a defective batch?
