Check this out. The Master Craftsman aka Fleasbaby came up with this design in white oak for a build I am doing for a friend. And of course it will have the rocking V 9s in it. I got the screen material from Home Depot. They had the same pattern in black and silver.

This is a one off turning. If you like it, give the post a like. I am hoping that this might lead to some very interesting non traditional cup designs from Fleasbaby.

Thanks for the kind words :) Here are some more pics, a little easier to look at...

I turned a similar design this morning as well. Nothing revolutionary, just getting tired of doing endless RS1 knock-off and GS1000 clones...thought I'd do a little exploring.

Your addition of the gasket tape around the driver make it an easy press in fit and no additional gasket material was necessary. A good job of adding value to the V9!

I actually liberated the V9 s from my cocobolo cups so I could meet a shipping deadline for a friend. They were very easy to remove with just a little pressure on the driver magnet. Then an easy and snug press into the white oak cups after soldering.

They sounded great in the white oak cups. I am sure that my friend will be very pleased.

I spent time this morning comparing my sons Angsana wood cup / Magnum V8.1 headphone to this Angsana wood cup / V9 headphone and the differences are clearly discerned switching between the two. Bass is tight and pitch is easily discerned on songs where this can be difficult for many drivers. Vocals, guitars, strings, horns, etc. are all wonderfully rendered in the midrange and smooth where these extend into the treble. The treble is perhaps as clear, clean, and articulate as any headphone driver I've heard.

Color me impressed! :)

I little over a week ago I liberated my V9 s to put into a pair of cups to ship as a gift. Yesterday I received my replacement set of V9s. I got them soldered in this morning and they sound just as great as the first set.

My friend who received the gifted pair is totally enthralled. He call them his new best friend and logged in 6 hours yesterday. A new Head Fi er for sure.

Rhydon sir, imo you have hit a home run with you V9 s! Well Done sir.

As I listened to the V9s they sounded good from the start. Bass deep and tight, mid range very nice and the highs nice and detailed. The more I listened to them they seemed to get more detailed and every voice, instrument I've listened to just sounds right. After 3-4 days I started to hear more voices in choir music I hadn't noticed before / best description I can come up with is more resolving and it seemed to keep improving the longer I listened. Last night I noticed a new change and well recorded voice and instruments sound for lack of a better description, sounded real. Almost shockingly so. Really enjoying these more than I'd hoped for!
