Grado SR325(is/e) has significant bass roll off compared to my other Grado (SR60/80, RS2x, PS500e, and recently 225). Its also the brightest, but is tamed quite well with F-pads. With F-pads it is the Gradoiest of Grado, guitars are so crunchy and delicious, however the bass roll off is a deal breaker for me.
SR325e (F-pads) vs SR60 (F-pads):
SR325e brighter with noticeable bass roll, but worth consideration because SR325e sounds noticeably less grainy than SR60. By grainy, SR325e seemingly has cleaner bass, blacker background with better contrast, increased microdetail. SR325e bass roll off is high, but before that is a bit of warmth / upper bass bump that is helpful in countering some of the perception of roll off and can slightly enhance some music. SR325e's brightness isnt painful or peaky, just slightly more than SR60. Highs is where I feel people differ the most in their perception, so fwiw.
I prefer SR60's bass extension to 325e's technical ability. As I listen to more and more music, more instances of bass roll off effects the groove of the music. I thought I could adjust but I am not. If SR325e (F-pads) was just a studio monitor for guitar then it would win.
SR60 I use for portable casual background listening (music, audiobooks, podcasts) so perfection here is not imperative but convenience is. So I think
Geekria mini-donuts are preferable to F-pads due to better comfort. The sound between pads is similar enough for my situation. And Geekria is cheaper.
update edit:
Grado SR60 slight treble peak has lost its charm, some songs can be very slightly grating after extended use. Perhaps lower treble peak becomes more noticeable with the Geekria mini-donuts... The Geekria mini-donuts shave a little much off the very top end, cymbals sound a bit more veiled than even I prefer. Not worth the slight upgrade in comfort.
